Yes, Mizzou. I'm dropping that Econ class, I think. It's just a one hour lecture that tries to connect journalism and economy. It was so scattered and pointless...added nothing to my normal econ class.

the less blowing-minds you do in college, the easier it will be for you to look back on freshman year without being incredibly embarrassed

i don't know if i agree -- i mean, i'd look back with shame if i couldn't own up to all the MINDBLOWING ECLECTIC music i like.

maybe the embarrassment curve swings back the other way but at 22 and 6 months out of college i dont ever want to think about how i must have sounded four years ago

I already am embarrassed! I know (and say) too much about the journalism school and its failures.

I think I was a bit like that in first year at college but not so bad, just when ppl came to my house I'd play britney and laurie anderson (BIG phase) as well as all the old favourites. I flipped "Do Something" backwards on audacity, it was a hit.

My classes so far are pretty cool. European Novel (a bunch of obscure stuff - only well-known novels are Don Quixote + Sentimental Education. Other stuff is like Roth's Radizkty's March + Schulz's Crocodile Street), Media + the Election (which isn't brilliant, but if I'm gonna obsess over the election I might as well get credits for it), a Creative Non-Fiction class, and finishing up my senior thesis.

We're reading Don Quixote. Worst discussion group ever. The big lecture was pretty fantastic, though!

I'm not sure my grad school is lol grad school but we did have our pre-start informal ice cream social yesterday! And a battery of language placement test next week. Eep.

I gotta apply to grad school this semester.

Thanks for the comforting words, PP. I think I knew most of the test, but I really screwed up my timing. So I think I lost a lot of points (btw, Graham Hall is being renovated this year, i think). And I'm sorry Abbott, but I think the '5 years' line probably works with you, too (even if it's not a test that's making school ;_;).

My 'five years from now'...would have been in 2002...my second year of college. I'm still in college.
