Here's my rant:

TAGGING ISSUES- Why are my pics NIPSAd?
www.flickr.com/forums/bugs/19010/

I too have this problem. Flikr admins tell me my work is not suitable for public viewing and may offend. I joined a group called "amazing circles" and then another called "weekend theme challenge (W.E.T. Challenge for short)" the links to these pages are here:

www.flickr.com/groups/amazingcircles/
www.flickr.com/groups/amazingcircles/discuss/720575940655...

please review my body of work here:

After being encouraged by group members to contact Flikr admin about my tags not showing and it interfering with our challenge, I wrote an email to the Flickr Admins. In the email I included email text from one of the members who told me to write to Flikr Admin - her name happens to be Jennie. Please note, Jennie is not me, I am not Jennie.
This is the response I got to my email inquiry:

Flickr Support wrote:

Hi Jennie,

Several of your images are considered non-photos. If you
privatize or flag those as "may offend" I can re-review
your account and update your status so that your photos
will appear in tag searches.

Ana

I am told by Flikr admin staff that my images are not photos and therefore, must be privatized or marked "may offend". Eh, well the amazing circle group fits the "not photos" criteria as does the "W.E.T. challenge group". Yet all 565 members of the AC group and its subset WETChallenge have their tags showing on the 4657 photos (at current count and rising). Does anyone else out in Flikr-land see a problem here? Or is it just me? I think I am being unfairly judged and singled out. If the criteria for tagging is "must be an image", then I want all 4657 photos in the Amazing Circles group marked "may offend" and then I shall mark my work "may offend" also.

What is an "image" anyway. Webster defines it here: www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary

It seems that "image" vs. "non-image" is purely subjective, and not for one person to judge. In my travels thru Flickr, I have seen pix of naked people and I mean NAKED; not a stitch on their bodies, full frontal nudity. Yet somehow these images are not flagged "may offend". I suppose because they are actual photographs of naked folks, and qualify as "images" and are therefore exempt from must mark as may offend. For some shots of naked folks, go here:
www.flickr.com/photos/tags/nudes/

Personally, I am not offended by nudity, but I do think that given the scales of justice, pix of nudes on a public forum kind of outrank my random circles made from an initial photo or "image" provided for the purpose of a group or group project.

Anybody else agree? Please post to thread and also email your kindly Flickr admin. I am not alone in my quest, there are others who share this Flickrbug. Do any of you believe it's because I am not a paying member, but have free non-pro account with Flickr?

I am raising a fuss and I know it but it seems a worthy cause to me at this moment. I like the AC group and WET Challenge and enjoy participating in both groups and this has taken all the fun out of it for me. I posted my rant to the help forum too - I will probably be marked as a troll and permanently banned from Flickr.
