How come when I was a kid in the 70's there was all this talk about the weirdness of the Bermuda Triangle and now it never ever gets mentioned anywhere at all? Did people quit flying over it or what?

I was looking for the lyrics to that online but all I could find was the "The Bermuda Triange / Try to see it from my angle" bit. Doesn't he then go on to say "The Bermuda Triangle ... not so bad"? Which might provide the answer to why people don't worry about it anymore.

The gist: my coworker's family were pirates in Denmark within the last century or so. I know Boat People from Vietnam who were attacked by pirates in the South China Sea. Pirates allegedly still operate there and in the Carribean.

This still gets thrown in as a plot to kids shows' every once in a while, like "Tale Spin" had an episode about the mysteries of this polygon.

I love how the only people into any of this stuff --- Atlantis, Bermuda triangle, ufologists --- are either fringe loonies or obsessed fringe skeptics debunking all this stuff no one cares about anymore (I'm looking at YOU, James "The Amazing" Randi, you adorable little doll of a tiny old man!).
