This question has just proved strangely popular in my office. I sleep in either 1) a slip dress-style nightgown 2) boys boxers and a vest 3) oversized t-shirts 4) nothing.

I used to sleep in a t-shirt and boxers, but lately I've gotten into the habit of nothing. We'll see if this changes once it gets colder.

Winter: flannel bottoms & a t-shirt (sometimes long sleeved)
Autumn/Spring: thin pants (like scrubs) & a t-shirt
Summer: boxers & a tank top or nothing at all.
this year has been a whole lot of nothing. or a t-shirt w/o pants. i kinda like sleeping naked in the winter if i'm sharing my bed with my bf.

it varies according to what's clean, but last night i fell asleep wearing a sleeveless top and some oversized drawstring shorts. often i'll wear a black cotton nightshirt.

In winter: Flannel pjs
Otherwise: underwear and a t-shirt or cotton pj bottoms and a t-shirt.

I only sleep naked if I have a shower at night and it's warm enough or if my clothes have been removed for foolin' round.

I think the only reason I don't sleep in the nude more is because most times I have I have had a naked lady sleeping with me, and, when alone, it's just kinda depressing.

I have slept naked almost every night for the last 14 years or so, since I was about 12. I feel very uncomfortable sleeping with any clothes on, boxers or PJs or anything. The only times I'll wear anything is if I'm in an unusual bed (or on an unusual floor) or if I'm ill.

Leggings and some kind of (usually oversize) t-shirt most often. If it's very hot, I might replace the leggings with a paisley cotton skirt which has become too ratty/transparent to wear out of the house. If it's very cold, I might add a sweatshirt or more usually my sleeping cap.

I dislike sleeping naked, regardless of whether there is anyone with me or not. I cannot sleep at all if I am wearing socks.

(This of course disregards the number of times I have passed out or fallen asleep fully clothed.)

sometimes if it's summer, or if it's a new t-shirt and I think I might wear it again the next day, I put on a generic white t-shirt for sleeping.

The upside to that being, if there's a fire, at least I'll look okay with a pair of nice jeans or business slacks on, waiting for the authorities to arrive.

this sounds silly but you never know. when our house burned down in college, i was so relieved that i had left my clothes folded next to my bed instead of putting them away in the closet. i was able to greet neighbors and firemen in jeans and a sweater, as opposed to my cowering half-naked housemates.

I usually fall asleep in the jeans I wore, unless it's cold and then I'll keep my shirt on. It's not that I really want to, but I'm still at home until I'm able to find a full-time position and move out. I live in a place so small that I've had to share a room with my 13-year-old brother ever since his birth, hence why I have to sleep clothed.

My youngest brother was such a slacker that if he knew he had to be up early in the morning, he'd have a shower and put on the next day's clothes before he lay down on his bed to watch telly for the night. That way he wouldn't have to get dressed in the morning.

For some reason I get really hot in bed (no innuendo intended) and if I wear anything else I wake up soaking with sweat at 4am. Even in the winter.

It is vital, for me to get to sleep, that the room be like an icebox but the bed be lovely and cosy warm. Consequently I cannot sleep in my parents' house because they are LIZARD PEOPLE who need to have heating on all the fucking time, even at 1am.

I like it to be cold in the bedroom & cosy & warm in the bed. I like to put an arm or a leg out of the covers & then when it's cold, you bring it back under the covers & snuggle down. Yes I know I'm weird. My parents house is far too hot.

my mom likes it freezing cold, with the window wide open even in the dead of winter. i'm not a lizard person -- i don't like heat as much as i like warmth. i'm happiest when the thermostat is around 77 or 78 degrees fahrenheit.

I also like my bedroom cold but my bed nice and warm and will crack the window a little even if it's freezing outside and then snuggle under my ridiculously warm down comforter.

To answer original q either tank top and pj pants, a sleepshirt, or flannel PJs in winter.

not longer naked as my kids like to get me out of bed in the middle of the night on a regular basis. last night first ophelia (she has PINWORMS ARGHHH freaked me out thanks raimi) and then it was elisabeth who kept me awake for more than half an hour. about 5 hrs of sleep is actually not that exceptional

Half the time I don't even unmake the bed. I've got this microfleece blanket that follows me from reading chair to bed, and is washed with the bi-weekly laundry.
