Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Friday, 18 March 2005 16:23 (twenty-one years ago)

scared?

Silky Sensor (sexyDancer), Friday, 18 March 2005 16:25 (twenty-one years ago)

There is 2 or 3 threads about this already.

svend (svend), Friday, 18 March 2005 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm more amused by the fact that the homepage is on MySpace.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 18 March 2005 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

AWEsome@!

brenterizer, Friday, 18 March 2005 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm curious about the connection between comedy disappointment and terror.

Silky Sensor (sexyDancer), Friday, 18 March 2005 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Why is there a US-version of "The Office"?

Ken L (Ken L), Friday, 18 March 2005 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

(makes sheepish non-search-engine-using face)

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Friday, 18 March 2005 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm more amused by the fact that the homepage is on MySpace.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Friday, 18 March 2005 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

You'll notice that I am first in almost everyone's list - even before "Tom".

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 March 2005 17:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Hah, Spencer, I just noticed that...

jill schoelen is the queen of my dreams! (Homosexual II), Friday, 18 March 2005 17:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I want to date with "Scott Tray," whoever that is.

jill schoelen is the queen of my dreams! (Homosexual II), Friday, 18 March 2005 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

you're not on mine, spencer.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 March 2005 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Huh. That clip was actually pretty funny.

"My name is Mr. Brown."
"Riiiight. First test, right?"

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Friday, 18 March 2005 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

i think if subsequent episodes get away from using plots from the original the show could work incredibly well. it will probably still get cancelled though.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 18 March 2005 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't think i dislike spencer but (though i have no idea what you mean about his picture) all those people are the same, equally horrid. don't be like that, people who aren't yet.

it's really best to avoid almost any social collective, including this one.

the more u ignore me, Friday, 18 March 2005 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

thank you for those enlightening comments

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 18 March 2005 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG, add me!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

: D

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:19 (twenty-one years ago)

is ILX a social collective?

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I.L.X.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I like to think of it as a kind of online kibbutz.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

kibbitz?

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:44 (twenty-one years ago)

also, it's the turn of RJG to do the washing up.

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:44 (twenty-one years ago)

and milk the goat.

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

For a semester in Berkeley, I lived at a coop called Casa Zimbabwe. Obviously we should rename ILX.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Choworld?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:50 (twenty-one years ago)

It's date/timeslot will prevent me from watching it, ever.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

a "coop"?

oh, a co-op. I thought you meant like a chicken run.

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

you're all washed up.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 18 March 2005 19:01 (twenty-one years ago)

nice of you to say so

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 19:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry, I actually meant coup.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 March 2005 19:11 (twenty-one years ago)

IS anything REALLY a social collective?

eh?

the thinkerizer, Friday, 18 March 2005 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw an episode of this and it was okay, but Steve Carell is really, really bad in that role. He's such a ham and not in a believeable way like Gervais. Really poor acting. Also, the "Tim" and "Dawn" relationship is ruined from the very beginning. There's a painful scene where the "Tim" character mentions how he loves the "Dawn" character. All subtlety ruined from day one.

Upside, the "Gareth" character is really funny and seems to be the only character that is a reinvention of his predecessor and not just a poor clone.

Adam, are you on myspace or WHAT?

OOPS WRONG THREAD

Mr. Harvey Weinstein (mr harvey weinstein), Friday, 18 March 2005 19:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Adam, are you on myspace or WHAT?

hmmmmm....have you looked for me?

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 20:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I think that it's actually pretty promising. Some of the new clips are pretty funny, they have some talented people working on it, and as far as they get from the original, the better. It's all-new stories after the pilot, so I don't see why this can't be good in its own right.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 18 March 2005 20:23 (twenty-one years ago)

The key really would have to be letting Steve Carrell do his own thing. He's really funny when he's left to his own devices.

I agree that the Gareth analog played by Rainn "Arthur from Six Feet Under" Wilson is very different and pretty funny. I don't like the faux-Tim and Dawn though.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 18 March 2005 20:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, the episode that I saw was hard to watch when Carell was on screen. If they can reign him in or give him some non-Brent material to work with, it may be ok. But he really ruins every scene he's in.

Mr. Harvey Weinstein (mr harvey weinstein), Friday, 18 March 2005 20:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Upside, the "Gareth" character is really funny and seems to be the only character that is a reinvention of his predecessorDwight even kept the same color tie and shirt!

As far as Carrell's boss character, it's like he's going for a combination of David Brent and a really poor man's version of the Alec Baldwin character from Glengarry Glen Ross, which if he can pull it off, will be hilarious.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Friday, 18 March 2005 20:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah sorry, I should've paid more attention to what he was wearing and less to the comedy.

Mr. Harvey Weinstein (mr harvey weinstein), Friday, 18 March 2005 20:40 (twenty-one years ago)

No, you probaly need to focus on the comedy more, Harvey.
