this is an awfully silly movie

The scene where somebody is hiding behind the door in the poolroom is one of the most suspenseful ever.

This movie is awesome! Pacino's inexplicable lisp is what puts it over the top into all-time greatness.

the accents in this movie are just lawl, including penn's. pacino's is the most inspired though... an italian hairdresser from staten island?

I think this is what auteurists used to mean when they threw around the word "delirious" as the highest form of praise...It's never boring, but I'm probably closest to congratulations' post above. Pacino has a good quiet scene the first time he sits down with Penelope Ann Miller, otherwise that accent's just one big elephant in the room the whole way. There's one guy I like a lot, and one line delivery I always love: Saso in his first scene, the way he says "Fifty, sixty thousand" when Pacino asks him about his gambling debt.

The poolroom scene's good, but "El Watusi" automatically, for me, diminishes it next to Scorsese's use of the same song.

haven't watched it in over a decade. But can never forget "billy blanco from the bronx" and Penn's beady-eyed fake baldy cokehead.

Pacino's Nuyorican accent in this is pretty good. Guys upthread don't know what they're talkin' 'bout. His Tony Montana, otoh,... ¡Ay Dios mio - que mierda!

the lengthy pursuit scene at the end is one of my favorites

and of course "OK! I RELOADEDDDD!"
