it may be a small thing, but this is the first sensible decision lilo's made in...how many years?

I dunno, i reckon going back to the red hair just makes her all the more tragic

Number None, Friday, 9 March 2012 13:34 (twelve years ago) link

it's more getting rid of the blonde

lex pretend, Friday, 9 March 2012 13:35 (twelve years ago) link

better red than dead.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 9 March 2012 13:41 (twelve years ago) link

Can we pool our resources and send her a bossy elderly aunt-type person to keep her shit in check?

Sweet Lindsay needs more 'NO' in her life.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 9 March 2012 14:46 (twelve years ago) link

It'll take more than that before our Amber lets her back into her Ginger League.

Mark G, Friday, 9 March 2012 14:50 (twelve years ago) link

I can only imagine the condition of her hair right now. Do you think it's a wig?

surm, Monday, 12 March 2012 14:17 (twelve years ago) link

surm, Monday, 12 March 2012 14:17 (twelve years ago) link

Nice coat.

Mark G, Monday, 12 March 2012 14:19 (twelve years ago) link

she's actually making a break for it, having stolen the coat, right?

re: buzza's pic - is that hand as old as she is?

StanM, Monday, 12 March 2012 15:49 (twelve years ago) link

mm, hand as 'grainy' as the shop floor next to it.

Mark G, Monday, 12 March 2012 15:55 (twelve years ago) link

i think she was pretty average as far as guest hosts on SNL go these days

⚓ (gr8080), Monday, 12 March 2012 16:58 (twelve years ago) link

yeah pretty much

some dude, Monday, 12 March 2012 16:59 (twelve years ago) link

i mean unlike say January Jones she at least kind of has an excuse for not being funny on purpose

some dude, Monday, 12 March 2012 16:59 (twelve years ago) link

Average is 'alright' isn't it? Not good, not bad?

Or, are most of the guest hosts bad?

Mark G, Monday, 12 March 2012 16:59 (twelve years ago) link

most of the hosts are terrible

thuggish ruggish Brahms (DJP), Monday, 12 March 2012 17:03 (twelve years ago) link

Most of them are pretty bad, imo -- I'm always surprised when a guest is able to work well with the rest of the cast.

Respectfully, Tyrese Gibson (Nicole), Monday, 12 March 2012 17:04 (twelve years ago) link

^^^

stan this sick bunt (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Monday, 12 March 2012 17:04 (twelve years ago) link

i think it's kind of to the show's credit that they don't let the quality of the host dictate how well the show goes THAT much these days imo -- if someone has really limited talents they just build a monologue and a couple sketches around that one thing and then most of the other sketches the cast seems to get more shine and the host just does their little token roles and stays out of the way

some dude, Monday, 12 March 2012 17:11 (twelve years ago) link

in related news amanda seyfried is absolutely killin it in the new glamour

surm, Monday, 12 March 2012 17:14 (twelve years ago) link

like, beyond

surm, Monday, 12 March 2012 17:14 (twelve years ago) link

there's some kind of uncanny valley reaction inside me when i see guest hosts on SNL so obviously looking DIRECTLY at a cue card/teleprompter for line after line of dialogue instead of AT THE PERSON they are talking to

like, i am a rational person who understands that these are busy celebrities with only a week to prepare for a live broadcast of what is ultimately a stupid show that doesn't really matter, so memorizing lines isn't important at all. but on an instinctual level it sets off all these alarm bells

⚓ (gr8080), Monday, 12 March 2012 17:17 (twelve years ago) link

no one on SNL has actually looked at each other since 1991 at the latest

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Monday, 12 March 2012 17:18 (twelve years ago) link

lol

surm, Monday, 12 March 2012 17:19 (twelve years ago) link

not even in those vogelchek skits, it's true

goole, Monday, 12 March 2012 17:19 (twelve years ago) link

i imagine that film actors often end up doing like a couple lines of dialogue over and over in a given day and aren't really that accustomed to memorizing that much dialogue, but yeah you'd think they'd be a little more ready

some dude, Monday, 12 March 2012 17:21 (twelve years ago) link

x-post
Except Sanz and Fallon.

nickn, Monday, 12 March 2012 17:21 (twelve years ago) link

bill hader's been losing it in like every episode now; he's the new jimmy fallon

piggyback payoff (NZA), Monday, 12 March 2012 19:35 (twelve years ago) link

oh don't you dare

goole, Monday, 12 March 2012 19:36 (twelve years ago) link

will not stand for hader haters

some dude, Monday, 12 March 2012 19:37 (twelve years ago) link

ha i love hader, i'm just saying he can't keep his shit together through an entire skit anymore

piggyback payoff (NZA), Monday, 12 March 2012 19:38 (twelve years ago) link

my parents tivo snl and when i'm at their house i will ff directly to weekend update in hopes of stefon

piggyback payoff (NZA), Monday, 12 March 2012 19:39 (twelve years ago) link

I wish SNL had a little pop-up disclaimer at the beginning of every episode stating that lines are being re-written right up to (and sometimes during) air and that everyone is actively discouraged from memorizing lines.

i would like some hard stats on horatio sanz vs jimmy fallon wrt breaking character to laugh
