Incidentally, I randomly found Trayce via somebody I know on livejournal - what a small world we live in!

Recipes and general food thoughts since I don't believe in the usefulness of recipes; the best will wind up in the end-of-year cookbook, as per '03.

Fiction in progress, generally taken down once it's sold or goes into the revision bucket, whichever comes first; livejournal users only, "friends only," to keep it from counting as publication.

Spam, and more than you want of it, also LJ and friends-only.

Stick with the food one.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Sunday, 20 June 2004 22:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I did! I actually think it was easier than movable type. I had to install mysql/php on the site and it had been a while since I'd done anything like that, but I managed. So far I like it a lot better than MT but I've only been playing with it for a few hours.

How do we feel about "cut here" "below the fold" type breaks. I've always been a fan in that they kept the front page a bit more orderly, but I'm wondering if people aren't bothering to click through all the time and are missing good stuff?

dan selzer, Monday, 3 March 2008 20:16 (eighteen years ago)

I agree that people miss stuff and its bad for SEO

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 3 March 2008 20:21 (eighteen years ago)

I mean I know I should make my above fold stuff exciting enough for people to bother clicking through, but other times I guess you have to hit them over the head with it.

as an experiment, I just removed the cuts on three huge posts. It looks nice with all the pictures and text but takes longer to load, especially since one involves many youtube embeds. Still, it's probably no worse, and likely better. What frustrates me now is I had my blog designed based on an ultra minimal theme and I'm really happy with it but it doesn't have a list/index of posts in tn the sidebar, that'd be nice.

Bimble is posting obscure post-punk 7" singles now for anyone who cares. He's got plenty of them ripped and the sleeves scanned, so should be able to keep the blog going on a more frequent basis than before. First installment is The Insex and The Tea Set:

I also fixed that Gods Gift sleeve from back in October so it has the proper colour now of what it looks like in real life.

I'm doing this more for myself than anyone else, so there's no intended audience or theme, and is probably a tedious/pointless read for most anyone, so there's no point in mentioning it here, but nevertheless: tonight i dine on turtle soup
