I have been watching Big Brother, and the ensuing Friends-a-thon. It was either that or going to the pictures with the mister and his pals to see the Day After Tomorrow. Wine, the random button on ILX and shitty games have helped to pass the evening.

i would've gone to the cons'tines show (why are we google proofing their name¿) had i been able to talk someone into going avec moi.

The movie was alright, really just a big special effects show wrapped in a cliched environmental message. Parts of it were fun tho. Now im smoking cigarettes and listening to T-Rex on vinyl and wondering why no-one has called or emailed me all weekend. I guess now all i have to do is wait to go to work tomorrow.

Oh i wasted a lot of time on Smiths vs. Beatles too (and it definitely felt like a waste even at the time, tho it was fun!!).

My Boring Sunday Night: Napping until 9:30, drinking beer, listening to music, probably end up playing street fighter II.

I've done two loads of laundry and drank two bottles of stout. My wife is making cookies.

Also on a laundry tip. Kids are upstairs playing Minecraft. Wife took her dad out for dinner for his birthday. Glass of box wine. Listening to the never-fail Saturday night "Block Party" on WWOZ. Tonight they're playing all 45s from the '60s and '70s that I've never heard of. Disco-funk version of "Moon River." Barbara Lynn. Lee Moses. Things could be worse.

Watching various muppet Christmas specials like The Christmas Toy and Emmit Otter with the family. Enjoyed with some egg nog + bourbon.

Watched a Dvdscr of Nightcreeper and drank some nice strong Leffe, woke up later and carried on drinking. Looking forward to tomorrow's Geminid meteor shower.

transcribed an interview that a friend did with a guy who's the rabbinical consultant on religion-themed hollywood movies.

ate some leftover breaded cod and trader joe's "reduced guilt" mac & cheese.

rewatching the captain america movies, steak for dinner, icecream later, workin on my winter insulation layer of fat

going to a screening of footage from an old chicago-area public access dance-party show from 1982. numero group is working on a release of that stuff and they and cinespia have put together a night at cinefamily.

Hung out in my backyard in the early evening, doing some mellow gardening while listening to CHVRCHES on my new headphones, then just chilled out on the patio drinking a beer by the fire pit. Next up was a family-made dinner of Jamaica beef DUMPLINGS! and corn on the cob with white wine. Not bad and the night is just starting.

I'd kind of like to know what you were soldering, as that would have been my boring Saturday night if I hadn't had a shedload of other commitments.

I resoldered the volume pot on my wife's horrible Dual car CD player. And I did the resistors and caps for the Objective 2 headphone amp I am putting together as a gift for my brother.

I thought I was terrible at soldering, but now I have a temperature controlled hakko, and it is my favorite boring Saturday night activity.

wife went to a party which i thought sounded only sorta fun, i am getting the kids to bed and then will wash dishes and read a hindi novel i got from the library

hosted do-over Thanksgiving - inlaws arrived at 4:30 and left by 6pm, way earlier than i anticipated. so now just drinking tea & bingeing Atlanta in an inordinately cleaner house than usual

i took a nap until 7:30 and felt meh enough to bail on a party. made some DUMPLINGS!, watched a law & order, and now i'm playing with my cable box's pandora integration. so far i've tried out pram and stealing sheep radio

oh and i'm doing a face mask that i bought at sephora yesterday

ha please explain the concept of "do-over Thanksgiving"? did the original not go well, or did it not happen at all? (naturally i hope it's the former :P)

original thanksgiving dinner was cancelled on account of some kinda stomach flu they all had or something
