I guess this is kind of cheeky, and I know this forum isn't a free advertising site, but the first issue of Loose Lips Sink Ships is published this week (Pash and a couple of others were asking for a heads-up when we went to press, so...). It's got a smaller print run than the last issues of Careless Talk, so if you ant a copy I suggest you jump on it sooner than later!

Our website is at www.deathto.tv, all the purchasing info is there. Rock on!

Yay Hunches!

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:31 (nineteen years ago) link

there's a 4-page middle spread of hunches photos that are just electrifying!

stevie (stevie), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:32 (nineteen years ago) link

it was such a great show! weird to see them headilining Brixton when, just 2 and a half years ago, i saw em play that burger bar in Austin...

stevie (stevie), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:33 (nineteen years ago) link

i thought it was fantastic. k's outfit.. omg!

i remember their first brixton gig.. sniff.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:35 (nineteen years ago) link

I only saw 'em once (Birmingham Bar Academy). I've barely listened to the second album and most of the first, but they were that good live that they're still one of my favourite bands ever.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:36 (nineteen years ago) link

william - lauren and i are talking about YYYs, but i'll never give up an opportunity to say just how fucking amazing The Hunches are...

stevie (stevie), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:41 (nineteen years ago) link

Is there amateur gay porn about the writers in it? Coz if not, I'm not buying it! ;-)

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:44 (nineteen years ago) link

not gay porn, but there's a wonderful illustration of hearts and tampons

stevie (stevie), Thursday, 18 November 2004 12:17 (nineteen years ago) link

There's a vision. ;-)

Stevie, got a hold of That Band's Manager and things are promising. More later.

wicked - good work ned! x

stevie (stevie), Thursday, 18 November 2004 13:38 (nineteen years ago) link

Nope, give me slash or I ain't having it! ;-)

If I wanted to see hearts and tampons, I'd read Scarlet. Sheesh!

FINE FINE. "Ned and Stevie looked into each other's eyes..."

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 November 2004 16:21 (nineteen years ago) link

Yes! yes!

"That's a fine cowboy shirt you're wearing, Mr. Chick," Ned mumbled, playing coyly with the ends of his hair as he turned his copy in.
"Huh?" Stevie looked up, distracted, from Ned's last column, his eyes misted over with a tenderness he thought he had forgotten. "Oh yes, just leave it..." his voice trailed off as his eyes drifted across Ned's flowing mane. "On the..." Oh, to run his fingers through those lovely tresses!

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Thursday, 18 November 2004 16:24 (nineteen years ago) link

Dear god, this is already more unsettling than the Calvin and Hobbes slash. Just don't include Stevie's cat.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 November 2004 16:26 (nineteen years ago) link

"'Prrrr, prrrrr, prrrrr' said Mr Chang, gazing on at the simmering scenes before him with an unseemly interest."

OH GOD I DREAMED ABOUT THIS MAGAZINE LAST NIGHT.

I'm not kidding. It was like being trapped in an episode of the Simpsons. Except my mum, who started acting like a character from Hollyoaks and renting out her house to Scouse students...

Anyway, I went to HMV to buy Loose Lips, and I managed to find the VERY LAST COPY and I was getting all stressed about it,making sure that I found it, and making sure the issue number was right and everything. And I was all happy because there was a lovely luscious pouting lugubrious picture of Carlos on the cover, (yeah,I know, as if) and I was saying "Hurrah! I've got the last issue, and I have to get it because my mum really fancies Stevie Chick!" (This is bizarre and unlikely IRL but this was my logic but then this guy kept poking me with a stick, trying to get it off me. And it turned out to be Bono, all dressed up in his Fly outfit, hassling me and poking me with sticks trying to get it away from me.

I wonder what it all means...
