SE london FAP (when that happens not if), duane thing and MEGATOM I'm certain to attend.

The dawn of a new era for ILX: the first (and maybe only) south-east london FAP (for Tim 'I don't wanna do a thread evah' Hopkins)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:09 (twenty years ago) link

and this:

London FAP - Friday 31st October 2003

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:10 (twenty years ago) link

Blimey we might as well start planning the Christmas Party at this rate.

Expect spontaneous guerrila FAPs too of course. Well no, don't expect them, thats the point.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:12 (twenty years ago) link

This is the official thread for the TOM WEDDING/LONDON ILX MEGAFAP OCTOBER 2003 (as well as me visiting Dublin!)

i've been saying we should have a diary feature on ilx for ages ;)

this is a good substitute :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:13 (twenty years ago) link

hey why has my mighty-return-to-ilx FAP celebration not been scheduled yet?

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:19 (twenty years ago) link

i'd like to do something Saturday (cos tomorrow night's out for me) but no idea what - anything good on?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:21 (twenty years ago) link

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:24 (twenty years ago) link

Have you finished the book already Mark?

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:25 (twenty years ago) link

Mark that's scheduled for 2017. On Mars.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:26 (twenty years ago) link

It'll probably be the West End of Mars, though, which some mentalists will be trying to pass off as the centre of the planet.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:27 (twenty years ago) link

In the old Martian Tapir hunting grounds?

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:30 (twenty years ago) link

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:31 (twenty years ago) link

Which is of course on the dividing line between Westc Central mars and Eats Central Mars, somewhere near the junction of Marsberry Av and and the Mars Inn Rd.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:32 (twenty years ago) link

"layer of permafrost may pervade upper crust" = dom at FAP greeting the oxbridge contingent

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:32 (twenty years ago) link

Are the gravitational anomalies those things that us earthbound sorts usually refer to as mountains?

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:33 (twenty years ago) link

aren't they where i knock ppl's drinks over?

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:35 (twenty years ago) link

In between those two gravitational anomalies is a picture of DJMartian's eyes when he sees the latest Mercury Prize nominees list / Radio 1 playlist / NME contents page / etc etc.

Where's DJMartian now?

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:48 (twenty years ago) link

Once they build a place called Centremars everything will become clear. At least until they build a Macdonalds a few miles away from it.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 11 September 2003 12:12 (twenty years ago) link

wimpy and ealing FAP's have yet to be organised, they could be combined I guess. *shrug*

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 11 September 2003 15:43 (twenty years ago) link

jel- demand the impossible!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 11 September 2003 15:44 (twenty years ago) link

Aha. There is a plan afoot to take Ned for curry in Southall. You may yet get your Ealing FAP.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 15:45 (twenty years ago) link

And there was never any bowling! Who wants to go bowling in Park Royal? it'll be Edgy.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 11 September 2003 16:06 (twenty years ago) link

Only if we can go play crazy golf in croydon as well.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 16:17 (twenty years ago) link

YES!!! ILE ADVENTURE GOLF TRIP!!

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 11 September 2003 16:19 (twenty years ago) link

Ha, we'll show those new yorkers and their high faluntin fancy sex and the city lifestyles.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 16:22 (twenty years ago) link

Could a moderator at some point alter the first post in the thread to include information about other events detailed din the thread.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 16:23 (twenty years ago) link

I wanna go golfing!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 11 September 2003 16:25 (twenty years ago) link

i suggest Queensway or Surrey Quays for bowling, you'll never get these suckas to Park Royal - and with good cause, it's the most rubbish part of West London evah sadly

i may be at the DMc Mixing Championships in Brixton on Sunday night (no, not as a contestant, haha) so an FAP in that area may be on the cards...

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 September 2003 16:27 (twenty years ago) link

Can we have updated Duane info, please? I am keen to meet him but have lost track of when and where this might be achieved. I think it might be this Wednesday.
