Dude, you thought it was a man, but it was a MUFFIN!

Big and blueberry. Or even some banana nut action. Hells yeah.

Fuck off big double chocolate ones, taller than it is wide and spilling out over the wrapping, with CHUNKS of soft chocolate on the top, not your namby pamby half-arsed oh-why-do-you-even-bother chocolate chips, which should cover the bottom and be sprinkled liberally thorughout.

(But I'm not sure what "muffins" are any more)

Graham, Friday, 14 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

I'm not quite sure what a proper muffin is anymore, either.. all the ones I find seem to just be cake in a muffin tin. Which is so not cool.

Oh, muffins are ok, but they don't have the allure of donuts. Which is precisely why I deprive myself of them. I don't deprive myself of anything except donuts.

MORE TALK ABOUT MUFFINS!

I like whole grain ones with fruits or cinnamon, chocolate etc. No nuts though. Don't like nuts in my bread.

I like muffins but they're not very interesting.

A long time ago, my brother and mother had an argument over what to name one of our cats. Mom wanted to call him Muffins. My brother wanted to call him By-Tor.

We were really sad when Muffins ran away. My brother insisted it was due to humiliation, but I don't know; better to have the cat run away then hang himself.

1) You and your bro must've watched a lot of He-Man

2) If someone can explain the logistics involved with a feline suicide, I'd love to hear 'em. (Well, maybe not, but whatever.)

3) When I say muffin, I mean MUFFIN. Sumptuous, soft, gooshy - not those weak-ass knock-offs folks like Entenmann's and other high profile bakers pass off as muffins.

Actually, bro was (and still is) a big Rush fan. I don't know how By- Tor née Muffins would have tied the noose without opposable thumbs, but I'm sure he would have found a way.

David; "gooshy"? I can't agree that a muffin should be gooshy.

Since Tadeusz hasn't been posting to catch it, I am duty-bound to note that Dave has made a Frank Zappa reference.

Warm blueberry muffins are amazing. The ones from Palm's Bakery in St Louis Park are amazing; I've never tasted better.

I'm making banana nut muffins with crumbly brown sugar topping right now. Who wants some?

OMG. That sounds awesome. I'm on a banana nut binge.

My boyfriend and I just had 3 each (I've never made muffins before and used a recipe on allrecipes.com). There's another batch in the oven now. We are going to muffin OD.

I'm very angry at the realities of geography and the social contract, both of which clearly state I can't just show up at your house with a large burlap sack that says "MUFFINZ GO HERE."

HA! Oh man... If you did, though, you'd get muffins galore!

Andi Mags, Sunday, 14 October 2007 22:55 (sixteen years ago) link

Man, I'm gonna have to make some this week. The mental image of diving into a sea of muffin is just too much to bear.

Anyone ever try the silicone cookware? If I have to buy a muffin pan, it might as well be Wacky.

Seems like the silicone baking pan brands differ quite a bit in quality... http://www.blahedo.org/blog/archives/000753.html
