Well, a tissue, for starters, and then a stern talking-to about about moths keeping their hands above the covers.

never seen bedbugs but loads of lil moths

landlord's advice to get a cleaner probably should have been heeded, they seem to be hatching from layer of dust next to radiator :/

nakhchivan, Wednesday, 25 August 2010 20:31 (2 years ago) Permalink

I love moths, they are the emissaries of the moon. That dust is probably moon dust.

Chaim Poutine (NickB), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 20:35 (2 years ago) Permalink

Have you read the Viriconium books by M. John Harrison, Nick?

undoubtedly xp

so tiny, their occult qualities as yet unformed

nakhchivan, Wednesday, 25 August 2010 20:38 (2 years ago) Permalink

? No, I'm afraid I don't know those. xp

Chaim Poutine (NickB), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 20:39 (2 years ago) Permalink

I have reason to suspect some baby moths are eating my yarn as we speak...you have no idea how distressing this is to me.

sharkless dick stick (Abbbottt), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 20:39 (2 years ago) Permalink

evil bastards.

Daniel, Esq., Wednesday, 25 August 2010 20:43 (2 years ago) Permalink

One of them has a story line about insect invaders from the moon.

Insect invaders that feast on yarn and bananas.

nakhchivan, Wednesday, 25 August 2010 20:45 (2 years ago) Permalink

I think this is what I get for constantly tormenting my brother, who was terrified of moths, with moths I would catch and put in his bedroom when we were both little kids.

sharkless dick stick (Abbbottt), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 20:45 (2 years ago) Permalink

Are you knitting some sort of banana protector Abbott, cos that might be stressing them out.

Chaim Poutine (NickB), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 20:46 (2 years ago) Permalink

mothra freaks me out too:

Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 25 August 2010 21:09 (2 years ago) Permalink

B-b-but it may be even scarier now that science is imitating art.

Quite a few years ago in this shopping complex I worked at there was a huge overnight invasion of moths. It was so bad the pet store across the parking lot from my store couldn't open for business the next day. There were mothguts all over my store's windows and inexplicably a bunch of them managed to get into the store and die all over the place.

this is the scariest film of ALL TIME

Not seen it, guessing that the presence of Roy Hudd might be some sort of rope ladder back to safety?

Chaim Poutine (NickB), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 21:17 (2 years ago) Permalink

saw a death's head hawkmoth recently, was mad cool

acoleuthic, Wednesday, 25 August 2010 21:22 (2 years ago) Permalink

LOL nick, will always think of roy hudd as 'a rope ladder back to safety' from now on (actually i seem to remember he was quite scary in dennis potter's Lipstick on Your Collar...)

Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 25 August 2010 21:24 (2 years ago) Permalink

Talk Talk always had quite a mothy thing going on didn't they? They were never something creepy and crepuscular though, more just this weird ravishing emblem of alien nature.

Chaim Poutine (NickB), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 21:54 (2 years ago) Permalink

now that you mention it, this is one of my fave sleeves OF ALL TIME

Sun Tea (Pillbox), Wednesday, 25 August 2010 22:04 (2 years ago) Permalink

1 year passes...

fucking hell this bastard's like three inches wide and too fast to deal with, i'd just sleep and let it vanish as i have no particular fear but its violent collisions with everything are like some free jazz snare work.

a spectacular memory from my youth involves me standing on my bed in my tiny room battling a moth. It periodically went near my reading light, casting a gigantic shadow on my my bedroom, which combined with my desperate and fairly useless pawing and swatting produced a spectral impression of King Kong battling A GENETIC EXPERIMENT GONE HIDEOUSLY WRONG.
