ME!

true story: some late '80s Oscars and "Shakedown" is nominated. Segar didn't show so my dad asked me if I knew who was gonna perform in his place. I said I didn't know so my dad kept asking "who's the only person who could perfom in Bob Segar's place?" over and over with emphasis placed on different words even though I kept saying "I don't know" and then he finally said "wait and see". Anyhow, apparently Little Richard is the only person who can take Bob Segar's place.

My band has covered "Lose Yourself", albeit with slap bass and crunchy distorted geetarz, and a slight bit faster.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 14 February 2003 18:32 (twenty-three years ago)

You imagine accurately, grasshopper.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 14 February 2003 18:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Maybe they'll do it in the way they interpreted the Full Monty's original score. They get a load of big hunky men dressed up in the garb of the film's finale (bellboys or something)... and they take their hats off, then leave.

So in this case it'll be getting those Stomp! people in to whack some bins in time. or something.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 14 February 2003 20:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm not sure why, but I totally just imagined in my mind's-eye Kirsten "Kiki" Dunst rocking the living hell out of "Lose Yourself" in place of Em.
