We are but a little gleam of time between two Eternities, so why then did I spend two hours standing in front of the copy machine today?

Infinity makes all its cash by supplying photocopier parts and toner.

no matter who is boss of you
you can still be boss of the copy machine.

Teeny you apparently use a miraculously efficient copy machine. :(

I realize now that the thread should have read "Life is but a little gleam of time between two Eternities, so why then did I spend two hours standing in front of the copy machine today?"

(I still don't know the answer.)

Quite possibly you have a crush on the copy machine and even though the two of you can never be together you cannot resist the sound of her voice and her bubbling laughter, dooming you to waste hours and hours of time which could be spent on more productive pursuits in her presence, trying to think of witty things to say

Because you don't hire enough student assistants?

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 20 January 2003 23:19 (twenty-one years ago) link

Enthusiastic little English undergrads who will happily slap photocopiers for minimum wage just to peek at some uncorrected proofs and meet people they're told are important?

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 20 January 2003 23:20 (twenty-one years ago) link

Actually we have plenty of those, but I feel guilty asking them to do my photocopying. I'm afraid they'll say "this job's for the birds" and abandon us altogether.

I'm afraid I can't maintain an aura of importance for more than 20 seconds. Today I was introduced to our newest intern (who meets your description) and after she left my "office area" (*ahem* cubicle *ahem*) I discovered I had cookie crumbs all over my sweater.

six months pass...
Spending time with the copy machine is getting tougher now that I know when I'm leaving.

don't short out the copier with your tears. It isn't manly.

Indeed it may be.

I have decided that photocopiers can smell fear.
