You fight over a province for a century or so, to the extent where the violence and savagery perpetrated resonate around the world as one of the primary reactions at the mention of the two states involved.

Then, peace.

Then, twenty years later, you watch the NI news.

I'm not saying it was better when the NI news was bombs and murder. I'm not.

I'm just saying that if this is what we were fighting for, the tragedy and waste become ever more apparent.

One of my main objections to Scottish independence is how tawdry, crap and embarrassing the national news is going to be. Perhaps someone from a nation of roughly similar population can enlighten me on that one.

Plenty of news in Trinidad but it does tend to be almost exclusively murder related, tbh.
