This always made me laugh more than other 70s sitcoms. Thinking of getting the box set. Hope it's as good as I remembered.

Horrible. Hated it as a child as well. Total dud in every way.

I like the actress who played Betty. She was in a few Hammer flicks and was married to Edward Woodward so she's classic. Otherwise I disliked everything else about it.

There are occasionally. Always the same ones though.

Not really sure I want to go for it though. I might try a few episodes on youtube because it's been a while.

I remember being confused by this as a kid and not really understanding what Frank's deal was, I was often confused by sitcoms I watched as a child, with most of them as I grew up I came to understand the joke or the subtext or whatever, but I still feel like I don't really get Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em

I do like Frank's outfit, though

This was brilliant. One of the best Brit sitcoms ever.

There are some classic episodes where Frank comes up against authority figures and just annihilates them with his impenetrable stupidity - not deliberately, it just happens. One with Fulton Mackay, I remember. It became increasingly nauseating and mawkish after Betty had her baby.

at times brilliant, at times i swear partly responsible for the depression i've had since childhood. probably usually the same times, it really is a portrait of a couple lost in hell who haven't quite worked that out.
Crawford was pretty rockist about his stuntwork and i think it shows sometimes but the roller skate sequence for example is pure Looney Tunes awesomeness. a lot of the bits that make me laugh as a grown-up are one-liners tho: Frank gets given his penance at confession and you hear his voice from within the box - "ooh, that's a bit harsh" - so much lol

Yes, I can't imagine watching this in 2016 and not being at least discomforted by the thought that Frank may be mentally unwell, or at least a simpleton we are being invited to mock.

genuinely disturbed by this as a tiny kid, used to scream when he fell through the ceiling or whatever. seeing adults act so childish and out-of-control, well i mean i could get enough of that at home. glad to see he freaked out other tots.
the eerie title music didn't help.

probably already mentioned elsewhere I used to get really worried that Fred Flintstone was locked out of his house all night

When this was originally screened, I think it was followed in the schedules by a programme that I liked, although I can't remember what that other programme was. But because I used to turn on the TV early, so as not to miss the beginning of programme I liked, I would often catch the last five or ten minutes of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, and I really disliked it.

me getting mad at Fred for not just climbing back in through the window ---->me getting mad at Larry David for not just calmly explaining the source of the misunderstanding

I have got mad at Frank Spencer when he continues to escalate wanton damage thru inability to ask for help
