Going to bed before midnight on NYE: C/D?

Does passing out drunk before midnight count?

The remains of my youth as a libertine compel me to look for Something to Do on NYE, but in the last couple years I've hung out at friends' houses and left quickly after midnight to avoid Uber surge nightmares. Tonight might be an early night because I leave for vacation early tomorrow morning.

Haven't gone out for NYE in 3 years (coincides with baby being born). The first year my wife and me made the effort to stay up til midnight but last two years none of us saw the point of it (and parental logistics prevent us from going out). Still feel terribly bad and sad about it (some FOMO paroxysm) but can't rationally justify it

In the UK, the BBC's coverage of the fireworks in London is bookended by a Robbie Williams concert. Seriously considering not bothering to stay up.

After several days of gastroenteritis, I am looking forward to an uniterrupted billion hours of sleep, which will definitely commence before midnight. Not a lick of FOMO. Being 43 is awesome.

I've got a cold and I'm pretty low energy right now. I'll probably watch a DVD movie with my wife and we'll be going to bed at maybe 11:30 or so. Then again, we're old, so it all makes sense.

Had a chance to go out tonight, but we opted to stay in with a bottle of wine. Taking the hubby to Rogue One tomorrow as part of what is becoming a new New Year's tradition for us (saw The Force Awakens last Jan 1).

did this often until my friend opened his own bar. fortunately it's halfway to being an old-man bar (ie indie rock geezers).

I'm back to doing the sobriety thing so had to ban myself from the party I'd normally be going to, but went to a different party about 15 minutes down the road with a slightly older group of friends (mid-40s on). Was good fun, they have one of these:

Around half of us were drinking alcohol-free beer, most people left around an hour ago leaving just me and the hosts - they went to bed just now, I think just to prove a point about how they don't care about seeing midnight.

The other party will barely have started. I am in bed, but not asleep.

Unexpected turn of events: went to a small gathering, stayed up until 3am. At least I'm not hungover, thank god.

Went to a small gathering and had fun but my heart really wanted to stay in, get high and watch 'Stalker' on Filmstruck. Instead I drank wine to not get too drunk and now my head hurts.

I haven't been to a New Year's Eve gathering since...2004, 2005? I normally spend the night at home alone and turn on the TV for 1-2 minutes to watch the ball drop. I slept through midnight on NYE 2016 but toughed it out this year in spite of some major sleep deprivation. sorry to say I missed out on the Mariah performance and the 'lol last casualty of #2016' meme cycle.
