I always imagine jel as being relatively short (maybe 5'5")

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 21 October 2002 00:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

has anyone seen that pbs commercial where the kid gets on the school bus and is taunted with "look everybody! it's shorty big short short!" ??

ron (ron), Monday, 21 October 2002 01:26 (twenty-one years ago) link

That's funny, because I think of jel as being rather tall. At least 5'11.

I'm quite small at only just under 5'4 (not tall enough to see the top of the fridge) but I usually wear big boots or heels that add a few inches. Being petite is fine of course, but it seems that for me, high arches and flat shoes just don't mix.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 21 October 2002 01:41 (twenty-one years ago) link

i'm fucking huge.

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 21 October 2002 01:47 (twenty-one years ago) link

Too tall.

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 21 October 2002 02:26 (twenty-one years ago) link

i have serious doubts that a woman can be "too tall" tall is good

ron (ron), Monday, 21 October 2002 02:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

what about the 50 foot woman?

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 21 October 2002 02:36 (twenty-one years ago) link

Taller than a surprising number of the men I meet.

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 21 October 2002 02:36 (twenty-one years ago) link

I would be surprised if she were not taller than every man you meet

Josh (Josh), Monday, 21 October 2002 03:04 (twenty-one years ago) link

obviously I'm of below average height.

rainy (rainy), Monday, 21 October 2002 03:05 (twenty-one years ago) link

but you have a larger than average head, right?

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 21 October 2002 03:06 (twenty-one years ago) link

sure

rainy (rainy), Monday, 21 October 2002 03:07 (twenty-one years ago) link

you don't sound sure.

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 21 October 2002 03:09 (twenty-one years ago) link

if you could see my freakish, beautiful overgrown melon-like skull, you would know that I could never be anything BUT 100% sure.

rainy (rainy), Monday, 21 October 2002 03:12 (twenty-one years ago) link

do you produce seeds?

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 21 October 2002 03:14 (twenty-one years ago) link

are you interested in growing a crop of skulls?

rainy (rainy), Monday, 21 October 2002 03:15 (twenty-one years ago) link

shhhhhh.

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 21 October 2002 03:16 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm 6 foot 1!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 21 October 2002 07:55 (twenty-one years ago) link

jel is tall and slim

mark s (mark s), Monday, 21 October 2002 08:22 (twenty-one years ago) link

Lots of people I have met from the internet say they expected me to be short. I'm actually about 5'10". How come I seem short? I don't understand it.

Madeleine (Madeleine), Monday, 21 October 2002 08:38 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm taller than I read.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 21 October 2002 08:38 (twenty-one years ago) link

I can fit Martin Skidmore in my top pocket.

Andrew L (Andrew L), Monday, 21 October 2002 08:40 (twenty-one years ago) link

I believed Rebecca to be tall. She writes tall.

Graham (graham), Monday, 21 October 2002 09:42 (twenty-one years ago) link

I think that's called "overcompensation". Would anyone else like to be a point on my mental one-point negative correlation (so far) scatter graph of propensity for incoherent rambling vs height?

Rebecca (reb), Monday, 21 October 2002 11:13 (twenty-one years ago) link

Jess is the tallest on ILE. Have we proven by science that his rambling is nothing but coherent?

Graham (graham), Monday, 21 October 2002 11:26 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm 5'11. Shorter than Jel. Ever-so-slightly taller than Madeleine. I guess that makes me average height. Ha ha.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 21 October 2002 12:12 (twenty-one years ago) link

One of my uncles is 6'11" - he had a house custom-built so he could fit in the doorways. It's like a giant's house - the bathrooms have a regular sink for us wee folk and a really really tall sink for him.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 21 October 2002 12:14 (twenty-one years ago) link

I am 6'0"

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 21 October 2002 12:17 (twenty-one years ago) link

sarah it's like a giant's house bcz it IS a giant's house!!

mark s (mark s), Monday, 21 October 2002 12:21 (twenty-one years ago) link

Does it have a beanstalk outside the front door which leads down through the clouds to earth?

I think I've heard of it.

C J (C J), Monday, 21 October 2002 12:37 (twenty-one years ago) link

'Too tall' women = a pernicious myth. Tall women in general = yay.

A hair under 6' in my case. I've never minded.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 21 October 2002 15:42 (twenty-one years ago) link

5' 7" but I was wearing heels on Saturday - could you tell?

Lara, Monday, 21 October 2002 15:44 (twenty-one years ago) link

Apparently "Mandee" sounds like a short person's name, but I am 5'7" which isn't that short for a chick I guess.

Mandee, Monday, 21 October 2002 16:38 (twenty-one years ago) link

I am tiny.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 21 October 2002 16:40 (twenty-one years ago) link

5'10" which I understand is an average height

brg30 (brg30), Monday, 21 October 2002 21:51 (twenty-one years ago) link

I assume everyone i short based on the fact that they post on ILX.

g (graysonlane), Monday, 21 October 2002 21:56 (twenty-one years ago) link
