i'm torn between the reliable laughs of a "______ from hell" thriller or the box covered in question marks that is mortdecai

strange magic is the kind of hellscape i doubt i could watch for more than five minutes on tv so it gets a strong pass theater-wise

wow, these all look so terrible, but: j-jo takes it, miss her in movies.

mortdecai cost about 15 times what the boy next door did - 60m to 4m, though i'm guessing depp got more up front and j-lo settled for a sizable back-end (HIYO!)

god only knows how much lucas wasted

I used to be a huge Johnny Depp stan but...either he's changed or I have, it would take a hell of a role/director to make me willingly watch him in anything now.

(This could happen with Downey Jr one day soon too I fear)

i've enjoyed some movies david koepp has done (his last was Premium Rush) but his last team-up with depp was Secret Window and his last comedy was Ghost Town, and the only other credit the screenwriter has is the Lance Bass vehicle On The Line

so, uh...yeah.

The Mortdecai novels are great - funny and nasty - the Deep film looks like a complete travesty of them.

I'll probably see Mortdecai at some point, but I suspect rewatching Electric Six's "Danger! High Voltage" video would be infinitely better and more time-efficient.

The ads for The Boy Next Door give off some pleasingly trashy early 90s "erotic thriller" vibes, and the guy is easy on the eyes.

That shit right there is precedented. (cryptosicko), Sunday, 25 January 2015 00:32 (nine years ago) link
