recently on ILX Dreams...

(about CS not nakkidness)

I offered to come up to London again, to go to a club (not one of the ilXOr clubs like FATS, Seal or Popular/FT though) but Martin Skidmore was insistent that London would come to Bristol instead. In the end there was about twenty of us*, and decided to go to Espionage at the Thekla. While waiting in the queue some local kids started lobbing clods of earth at us from the roof of the restaurant next door - Matt DC decided to lob one back and cracked the window of the restaurant. The bouncers then ushered us in and had us wait in the cloakroom** until the police turned up (though strangely they let us buy drinks in the meantime). They took statements but didn't pursue it because it was too much effort and we danced the night away. I snogged one of our party*** just before I woke up.

** The cloakroom was not that of the Thekla (which I'm not even sure has one), but of a very large theatre.

***I have had two, much ruder, dreams about this person recently which is why I have kept them anonymous. I am beginning to find it disconcerting.

Last night Kate stole my old band and kicked out Gary and I. SHE MADE THEM MUCH BETTER and they were quite successful. I had to make polite noises about how Doug and Alexis deserved it, though I was really twisted and bitter about it really.

Damn, I hope you realise that my real self would turn and face you unlike my dream self - I'm sure occult forces were at work in the dream situation to make me so rude!

With really scary dreams like that, I find it helps to analyse them, break them down, and then find a way to laugh at the stress behind it. It strips the dreamfear of its power.

There's also no honeymoon so the next thing I know I've been packed off by new husband to live with his parents in some Pennsylvania farm town where no one knows that I smoke and I just KNOW that everyone will disapprove of me, they will hate me, and my husband (who never has a name or a face) won't even come home, I'm just there to learn to fit into his family's lifestyle. BUT THE ILX PART is that somehow this guy is a friend of ALLY & TOM'S, he and Tom work together or something, and we're all living together in the basement of this ranch house, sleeping in a row of twin beds like some kind of fucking orphanage, and Ally is the only good thing in my life, the only person who hasn't already passed judgement.

So yeah, thanks a LOT for introducing me to someone who would ship me off, keep me out of sight, etc. Some friends YOU TWO ARE.

Last night: I had to give Barima a ride from the Knoxville airport to my house, where he was crashing. He was wearing a kind of blue/red, argyle sweater vest and carrying a solitary, brown train case. My IRL friend Ben demanded to be in charge of Rima's travel money, shoving the cash greedily into his pockets. Rima said something like "Um, are you even sure of the amounts?" and Ben was like, "YES, TWENTY SEVEN IN THE FRONT POCKET AND FIFTY SEVEN IN THE BACK. I'VE GOT IT."

is fucking astounding. Taken me this long to see it too. My youngest brother has a case pretty much matching that description and I nearly bought a pink/purple argyle sweater vest on Sunday, though I want one full stop. And I want to crash at your place someday.

I dreamed recently that I finally hooked up with Mutya from the Sugababes and we had this fanatstic relationship where we took the piss out of each other constantly, had great "chemistry" and I was the perfect father to her mondo adorable baby daughter, but The Lex ultimately renounced his friendship with me because he kept objecting over Mutya having a post-birth sex life or something (just like in real life).

I usually stay away from "dream threads", but I just wanted to put this down somewhere to jinx my dream from coming true. Long live Oprah. You owe me your life.

I have no friends in deserts in the middle of the states, and have never met Allyzay and Tombot.

The next night I had another ILX dream, but I can't remember it at all.

At some point the Nick Lowe song "So It Goes" was played in the restaurant (which was empty but for us) and AB was favorably impressed that both Carly and I sang along -- so he sent a bottle of champagne to our table, and it tasted like strawberries. That's all I remember.
