Watch out behind you - o man, that movie is so awesome. I watch a lot of scary movies, so I have generally been desensitized to them (I actually wish I were scared more than I am) The Descent genuinely gave me the creeps. Not recommended for anyone with claustrophobia.

It's pretty obvious here, but at Blanchard Springs Caverns located about two hours north of here, they always spotlight this feature and ask, "Do you see the ship?" And about half of the tour group always looks around and goes "The fuck is she talking about?"

This is another of the first cave in Vietnam. Look closely and you can see a guy towards the back. It really gives you a sense of how big it is!

One of my pet peeves is that every cave which is also a tourist destination is illuminated in completely garish colors. What's wrong with a soft, incandescent yellow or white?

Ive been to Jenolan caves a few times as a kid. Went once on a school excursion during a heatwave - it was 46C outside but freezing in the cave! And damp and scary. At one point they stood us in one large room then turned all the lighting off. I've never experienced such deep, relentless dark before. It's hard to explain.

The smell of caves is creepy. I'm also claustrophpbic and have a terror of being trapped underground. Caves are cool though.

I have been to this cave. During the tour, the guide turns off the lights to demonstrate how dark it is and holy fuck, the darkness penetrates your soul.

Natalie Avseenko and PHOTOTEAM.PRO undertook a new art-project in Ordynskaya Cave next to Perm city, Russia. Natalie had series of freediving session inside one of the largest gypsum caves. There was dark and cold (the water temperature was around +5C, the outside temperature was -35C), there was no chance to get to the surface and took a breath, there was roof above her all the time. Natalie, holding her breath and overcoming all the challenges she faced with, acted as the spirit of the cave who was kind, with big soul, caring... There is a legend that there is a Lady of the Cave who is very beautiful and charming. The lady is taking care of all the divers entering that incredible "natural cathedral". So, Natalie, literally speaking, had to settle down in the cave and she managed to do that.
