Where'd you guys see Fringe? It's supposed to be premiering in Sept.

A couple of comments:

1. Adam + Eve = Bernard + Rose, obviously? Hasn't this occurred to anyone else?
2. Jack is not going to be able to convince everyone to go back to the island. He's going to have a kidnap at least one of them (part of what Ben meant by saying he could help).

mitya, Sunday, 6 July 2008 03:58 (fifteen years ago) link

"obviously"

GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Sunday, 6 July 2008 04:14 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah, how is that obvious

roxymuzak, Sunday, 6 July 2008 05:15 (fifteen years ago) link

Alan Dale will always be conniving grandpa Caleb Nichol on The O.C. to me.

Rose and Bernard as Adam and Eve occurred to me as well. I can't see them killing them off and I can't see them leaving the island, so it would be a convenient end to their story.

But I still think its Jack and Kate really.

There's Jim Robinson dying. Eww that gurgling noise.

Matt DC, Sunday, 6 July 2008 16:06 (fifteen years ago) link

black and white stones - that's the clue

mitya, Sunday, 6 July 2008 21:24 (fifteen years ago) link

our favourite show got mostly shut out of the emmys again - not even a directing or writing nom. although crossed fingers for Michael Emerson (Best Supporting) and long shot for the Outstanding Drama category.

Roz, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:40 (fifteen years ago) link

It got a bunch of technical noms.

jaymc, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:41 (fifteen years ago) link

aye but they hardly win those either. I think this is the least number of emmy noms they've ever had.

Roz, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:44 (fifteen years ago) link

I don't like the Adam & Eve thing at all (if it's meant to be some kind of time glitch and that's two people we know now). If they were gonna do that kind of thing (on-island 'future echoes') there should be more incidents of it, unless J&K remain on the island long after everyone else has gone or directly cause another time-jump/teleportation/whatever - something significant enough for the future echo to be a gap of several years rather than just the minutes-hours we've seen so far. But this would still be rubbish as so many will have worked out who they are beforehand.

blueski, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:50 (fifteen years ago) link

I never saw Jim Robinson die (stopped watching before that). Don't think I'm ready yet.

blueski, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:51 (fifteen years ago) link

Just a consideration re: Adam & Eve and the stones: Jack took them, not Rose or Bernard. Of course, it's unlikely Jack managed to keep them, what with the being trapped in the hydra, a second plane crash, and all the other things.. but maybe they are in his tent?

Finefinemusic, Thursday, 17 July 2008 17:39 (fifteen years ago) link

Jim Robinson died?!?!

Didn't Desmond have the black and white stones at some point? I seem to remember them appearing in one of his flashbacks. I don't think I'm making this up. I remember being convinced that Adam + Eve would be Desmond and Penny for a while, anyway.

Savannah Smiles, Thursday, 17 July 2008 17:58 (fifteen years ago) link

I was really hoping that the Des & Penny episode would get recognized somehow. I think I enjoyed that 45 minutes of television more than anything in a long, long time.

mitya, Thursday, 17 July 2008 18:19 (fifteen years ago) link

B&W imagery is rampant throughout Lost, but I don't recall seeing the stones themselves in Desmond's possession.

Dodgy-quality Dharma video sent out via Bluetooth + screencaps.

Really dodgy-quality Marvin Candle video, supposedly secretly filmed by one of the Octagon recruits. In which you find out Candle's real name, and he asks you to "save Dharma" and change the past. The vid appears to have been filmed by someone who sounds a lot like Faraday (except that this was supposedly 30 years ago so.... hmmm?).

IMPORTANT: SECURITY UPDATE

Please be aware that investigations are continuing into the latest security breach discovered around the Volunteer Recruitment Program. Measures are being implemented to preserve the integrity of the program and to ascertain the identity of 'Black Swan'. Additionally, assessment data is being analyzed in order to determine which recruits may have exploited confidential information.

Recruits found to have benefited illegally from this material will be dealt with appropriately by the Dharma Initiative's Recruit Evaluation Panel.

In the meantime, I urge all recruits to avoid contact with the material being distributed by 'Black Swan'. The integrity of the entire Volunteer Recruitment program is at risk.

Namaste.

I just started season 2 in my "re-watch Lost" marathon. Walt just got taken by the creepy dudes on the boat, and Rousseau stole the as-yet unnamed (I think) Aaron. It's so fun to watch knowing what we know now! I have been paying special attention to Locke and Walt, of course.

two weeks pass...

Lost Season 5 Premier is Set for January 21

Yep, that's a Wednesday, and it's where Lost — which last season aired Thursdays at 10 pm/ET, following Grey's Anatomy — will stay.

More specifically, Lost's regular time slot will be Wednesdays at 9 pm, though the new cycle will kick off with a three-hour event — a clip show followed by the first two episodes.

Last season, Lost saw its best-laid plans to air all of its episodes uninterrupted, à la 24, waylaid by the WGA strike. At this time, sources are unable to confirm if the 17-episode Season 5 will in fact pull off the straight-through feat.

I can't see it but is it the same one i posted upthread?

Disco/Very (Roz), Sunday, 9 November 2008 17:27 (fifteen years ago) link

Hmm, counting down 16 weeks (2 episodes on Jan 21st) ends up the first week of May, so I doubt it will have the uninterrupted season that was the original plan for last year... bit of a bummer. My guess is they'll take most of April off again, and have another big two-hour finale for May sweeps.

Nhex, Sunday, 9 November 2008 19:50 (fifteen years ago) link

I am hosting some parties to watch old episodes before this one premieres.. what do you people out there consider essential Lost episodes??

I am trying to keep away from just doing season finales/premieres and instead pick interesting ones, maybe in light of what we know.. The Locke and Walt episodes? Claire's "Raised by Another"? What episode would you most like to re-watch before the premiere? We'll be having several of these nights so I don't have to narrow it down much, and I don't have season 4 on DVD yet, but hope to when it comes out...
