i don't actually care enough to argue the point: if you can't understand how a secret invite-only sub-board on an otherwise democratically-accessible board creates bad feeling among people who aren't initial members, i think you're being a little willfully obtuse, maybe.

i don't really mind the 77 board at all, fwiw - it's obviously mostly harmless. but it does set a weird precedent.

This is a problem we're having here. Lots of people are talking past each other since the beginning of this thread because "graham-level" (or Heave Ho level) creepiness and Nude Spock level troll-tronics is pretty much what we're talking about, and not o_O or Zing or DING DING DING or whatever non-specific variation on Excelsior you'd care to name.
