i have no idea whether this was a good or bad finale. it was lols mostly, like locke dropping out of the building behind Jacob while he's reading flannery o'connor.

i like the whole loophole idea. it was a theory of mine way back that these characters have been playing these roles out over and over ad infinitium. seems to be the direction s6 is going.

thought all the actual jacob/locke/ben stuff was cool; the relationship shit seemed even stupider than usual. like seriously how many times can juliette and kate flip-flop their attitudes in one episode? lol women are fickle. their motivations make absolutely no sense anymore at this point

yeah kate and juliet changing their minds every two seconds was annoying and made no sense. it's obvs they stuck in the juliet flashback (which was the only one that didn't involve jacob) just so they could have a reason why she would change her mind. lame.

also wtf no desmond? is this his punishment for motorboating?

too bad juliet didn't have that flashback any other time in the past three years

2. no desmond
3. no older eloise or widmore
4. jack counting to five - did he get his dumb tattoo yet?
5. still not knowing how christian fits into all of this (although i guess he's like whatever NotLocke is?)
6. sawyer not giving phil or radzinsky a proper beatdown.
7. rose and bernard were still pointless.
8. i wish they had brought in jacob before because more than ever it looks like they pulled his story out of their asses, like oh he's been in their lives all this time. he's almost a one-man nikki and paolo.

why didn't you tell me that before i took jack out in the jungle to beat him up

Nope I think Miles is right and the hydrogen bomb is the incident.

if the whole incident was some machinery getting pulled down into a hole, doesn't seem like it would have been that big of a deal

i was tearing up a bit when juliet fell down. :( maybe what she did was a bit like what the failsafe key did? and just like the failsafe key temporarily transported desmond to his past, then maybe the h-bomb had enough energy to transport all our castaways to either 2004/2008.

Jacob is first seen in the 1800s residing in his chamber in the statue. He is busy weaving a tapestry with a loom. It appears to be Egyptian. He exits the chamber and catches a red herring off the coast of the statue, then fries it up and eats it.

we all thought Jin died at the end of last season.. Maybe both Sayid and Juliet will be OK? I teared up too :( Did Sawyer even manage to say "I love you too" between all those hold ons? Sad, sad, sad..

nb jacob does give locke... um... reassurance or something... hope, or belief that things happen for a reason, would probably be overstating it

other thoughts:

was a little disappointed that jacob and smokey have american accents.

looks like lapidus will be a main player next season?

yeah i lol'd when they had regular american accents back in black rock days.

we sure the other dude is smokey? isn't smokey a security system for the temple (which i thought was a temple for jacob, since there are Others there)?

i was under the impression smokey is behind all apparitions of dead/remembered people on the island

possibly smokey = apparitions, jacob = dreams.

what does dreams have to do with this?

i was just thinking of the dreams that locke used to get, and ben saying "I used to have dreams". although i suppose ben could've been lying about that.

Which ppl who were visited by "Jacob" were actually visited by "Jacob"? Since the other dude appears to be able to take on the form of others, could he not have been Jacob maneuvering the Losties into position so that he'd be able to attack Jacob? Perhaps Alanna was the only person visited by the real Jacob...? (Also maybe Hurley and Sayid...? Perhaps the ppl visited before the flight met fake Jacob and the ppl visited after the return were met by real Jacob?)

Also I'm wondering if Jacob intentionally sacrificed himself to deal with these mysterious ppl who are coming? He kind of seemed to want Ben to stab him...

what would be the point of taking on the coutenance of someone they don't even know?

it seems to me that we have not yet seen the influence of what jacob did when he visited the losties. he told kate not to steal again to keep her out of a life of crime, he told sawyer not to write the letter to stop his vendetta for revenge against sawyer, he told locke everything will be ok after losing his legs, he gave jack a candy bar(?)

the result of these visits is in a time fork we haven't seen yet.

i thought it was pretty lol as a representation of people who quit watching lost "wtf just a bunch of fuckers running around an island freaking out for no reason"

maybe jacob was trying to get jack addicted to candy instead of drugs and booze and nirvana

basically after the explosion, the time "loophole" will begin again somehow. seems like this entire drama begins with the blackrock landing on the island. and it's probably happened numerous times.

cutty otm I think but obviously the difference of opinion between jacob and the other guy is that they can change the loophole, that people don't just end up killing each other, not sure what the common goal jacob and him have though, as their diff of opinion seems to be about how to achieve something...
