I hope that's not it. Daniel dying in this way just seems really stupid to me right now.

I think I could take a Sayid death if it means an awesome face-off with Ben full of bitter recriminations and anger and ends with Ben pumping several bullets into his chest in cold blood.

the way Daniel died seemed really stupid at the time, too. the worst part about watching that episode online was seeing how much time was left in the episode when he got shot, and thinking "either this is a really long death scene or they're going to throw some awesome twist/reveal in at the last minute...now, it's just a slow stupid death scene."

in the scene's defence, being shot by your mum who is also carrying unborn you is pretty awesome

but as annoying as i found dan's voice it's a totally not cool way for him to exit (and esp. weird after having been missing from the preceding 3 or 4 episodes), so from the second he was shot i just figured he will return somehow.

I think he means how old is he supposed to be. We don't know, but we did see toddler Charlotte running around on the island, so that implies she would be older than Daniel, which I would never have guessed but hey, the actor playing Miles is 40..

If she was about 5 in 1977, she'd be 32 in 2004 which looked right to me.

Yeah but in an earlier episode Ben recapped her life and claimed she was a lot younger.

Ben just got his maths wrong (he was under pressure) is all. Charlotte didn't point this out because she liked the idea of being a few years younger.

i love that Charlotte left the island at an early age (was Daniel only warning her to leave personally in the hope that she would somehow not return? didn't he figure she'd be evacuated anyway?) but later in life got into Geronimo Jackson ("turn it up!") anyway.

overall it was an good episode but they must be saving the best for the last season
