I think you probably can, if you dig into profile editing. I'm just getting started with it (http://www.myspace.com/jaqsez) and haven't got that far into it yet.

Ned Trifle, you can wipe out the entire details box - follow instructions and cut and paste from here. If you have anything in the Heroes section, put the code after it. If you don't have anything in that section, it will appear at the bottom of your interests as a blank.

Or, put the code at the end of the Books section, etc. Easy peasy.

is anyone still using myspace? about 99% of people I know have converted to facebook now. i used to run events and put them up on myspace and people would RSVP. last time i did one abosultely no one replied to say whether they were even going or not. the facebook event got 350 replies.

I use both, bit of a hassle. How is facebook for bands? In terms of numbers, song sample capabilities, etc.

that's the only thing about fb is it's not so hot for bands although the new fan pages look like they're doing it.

one question - if i have a group and i set up an event through the group, how do i invite group members to that event, as it only lets me add people i know and they're not necessarily in that group.

i only use myspace for listening to music and checking tour date - it has no part in planning my social life (or anything else) beyond those two functions. facebook, on the other hand, is currently my diary, event planner, link to friends old and new, photo repository... all sorts.

grozart, you can't invite people to a group event if they're not in that group - fb logically assumes the event is excusively for member of the group.

why not just sent up the event independently of the group and then post the event on the group page? that way you can invite who you like and tell them to join the group at the same time.

I'm in Belgium, so it's all in French now. If I click the "International" link, I can choose French or Dutch.

Everyone writes in English, all my settings are English (browser & stuff), but MySpace insists it still wants to be in French or Dutch. Everyone is stupid and only knows their own language, is that it?

I *could* create an account, set that to English and log in every time (maybe it would still detect I'm in Belgium and force me to use French or Dutch, I don't know), but I'm not going to. I made a new 127.0.0.1 line in my hosts file. Goodbye, MySpace!

I could never get over the terrible aesthetic flaws of Myspace.

I went to a show last weekend where the singer of one of the bands asked who uses myspace, and seriously one person in the entire audience cheered. It was pretty hilarious. They got more cheers for "who in here's PAGAN?" (...shut up.)
