Lost characters don't ask follow up questions or this show would have been over three years ago!

It's true, but I thought this was the most egregious example yet.

My theory is that one of the island's side effects is to make you epileptic so that you never quite finish a train of thought; we've never seen a scene in which Sun says 'but how ...' and then starts flopping on the beach, but I'm sure it's happened.

Sometimes this show feels so like a videogame, in that characters announce their motivation for doing something with a single line when actually they have to be present for some other reason. EG Sayid "I might as well go with you for some dumb reason, here I am, let's go"

Sayid: 'Hi, I'm here to arm this bomb since nobody else here can, but I may be shot or be encased in a radioactive concrete sarcophagus later. Let's do this.'

I did cheer when Sayid signalled his reappearance by shooting someone, but thinking about it I'm a little sad he didn't have time for a signature neck snap. Perhaps they're trying to move away from that trademark, but I for one hope for more necks being snapped in the future.

I'm looking forward to the Widmore-Sayid tournament snapoff

also, Kate did a great job trying to find Claire. she gave up on that mission kinda quick huh

also there's more others than just those with locke right

going on the DOB for each of the 3 actresses playing her they all match up pretty well agewise, but yeah she's still young-looking for 40 or late 30's.

Loved the heroes returning feeling of this episode - the blissfully-take-charge Locke as well as Jack and Sayid just having a complete "fuck this island, fuck everyone on it" mission for the first time in ages. And the finale "to action" theme as everyone said!

The Sun/Jin story is so boring. WHO CARES

"if there's any chance to find my husband Jin ... " is the new "I'm not leaving without my boy!"

yeah exactly. so tedious...

i don't mind the Sun/Jin thing so much in and of itself, but has there been any kind of explanation or compelling theory why Sun ended up on the island in '07 instead of '77? i mean Ben wasn't part of the O6 and Locke was dead so i can see them being exceptions for whatever reason, but what would even begin to explain that, aside from they just want to delay the inevitable tearful reunion?

I don't think anyone mentioned this yet and it's probably not even that important considering there's only two hours left, but the fact the bomb is right under the Dharma village is kind of a weird non-reveal - much like Daniel says in Jughead about the safety of burying it, I guess since that village/area is fully intact 30 years later it must mean they don't blow it up, right?

With Sun I'm guessing the island had no reason to send her back to '77 since it doesn't seem she's part of the Dharma/Jughead plot. Even Hurley had his small part here in convincing Chang to evacuate the island.

when we thought sawyer was going back to 1977 civilization (which we know is no longer true from the coming attractions, sorry if you are in the UK and that is a spoiler), i was starting to think that he goes and grifts his own mom, as sawyer. but that's CRAZAY!

have to say, shouldn't the fact that the finale is next week be more exciting? I mean, it's not poised particularly well.

the preview certainly made it look like they could just be running around doing bad sci fi movie bomb cliches, but since it's a double they've gotta have something else going on. i'm thinking at the very least there will be some kind of crazy reveal that will open up a whole new level of speculation until next season, hopefully re: Jacob or Alpert or the hostiles in general.

Are the tunnels they're in anywhere near the Temple or do they go all over the island?

has the show ever had cornier-looking visual effects than the submarine and the Ben-smokey scene in the last few episodes? i know it's an expensive show but i don't know if i should worry about even worse CGI to come or if maybe they're saving up the effects budget for something really badass.

I hear they're going to reuse the atomic bomb explosion from the "Let's Dance" video next episode.

I would pay good money to see Hurley's dream of an Ewok-free Star Wars trilogy realized.

So self-perpetuating Locke mythos again-- I thought it was weird that both Alpert & Christian told Locke that he had to die to get everyone back. Now we know that Alpert got that from Locke himself--who is infected by Christianity maybe?

Would like to see in finale:

-bodies of all people who died on the island found in egyptian style scarcophaguseses (including Locke)
-statue coming to life and stomping on people (what lies at the foot of the statue? you!)

or something equally jaw dropping

similar thoughts/predictions: will somebody get kidnapped or hostages get exchanged? will the island get revealed to the outside world again, or will its connection to the world in '77 get severed?

i'm guessing w/ all the rumors/speculation upthread and elsewhere that someone major will die (although imo that doesn't carry as much weight as it used to, what with all sorts of rising from the dead and revisiting dead people in the past) -- should we have a poll thread to predict who?

im thinking the "major death" theyve been yapping about all through the season is faraday tho

My money's still on Sayid.
