― IPOD TOOCH (jjjusten), Thursday, 7 May 2009 02:13 (fifteen years ago) link
Yeah, usually when someone in a movie or tv show gets trapped in a factcheck argument like that, it's because they're trying to convince someone else they are from another time. I love how that got flipped.
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 7 May 2009 02:14 (fifteen years ago) link
good thing for jack sayid showed up, wtf would a doctor know how to detonate a hydrogen bomb
― mermaphrodite (nickalicious), Thursday, 7 May 2009 02:16 (fifteen years ago) link
'ok dude, we're from the future'
lol
― tehresa, Thursday, 7 May 2009 02:17 (fifteen years ago) link
also love how eloise is fine coming out of the pool dripping wet but sayid has to stop and fix his hair before they can move onward.
eloise is fine coming out of the pool dripping wet

god i love that PEOPLE GOIN ON IMPORTANT ISLAND TREK music that they always play in the finales.
― Roz, Thursday, 7 May 2009 04:58 (fifteen years ago) link
i was pretty sure that locke/sun/ben/richard were going to walk right past rose, bernard, and vincent while trekking out to find Jacob

When a guy tells me that he witnessed all of my friends die, I can usually think of some follow-up questions for him. Just sayin.
― Brakhage, Thursday, 7 May 2009 06:03 (fifteen years ago) link
Otherwise jam-packed full of awesome, just the way I like it
― Brakhage, Thursday, 7 May 2009 06:06 (fifteen years ago) link
you are not a character on Lost! Lost characters don't ask follow up questions or this show would have been over three years ago!
― akm, Thursday, 7 May 2009 06:21 (fifteen years ago) link
Asking follow-up q's is pointless though, because every motherfucker on that island is as cryptic and dodgy as they come.
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 7 May 2009 07:39 (fifteen years ago) link
..he's had that job for a very, very long time.

PEOPLE GOIN ON IMPORTANT ISLAND TREK
love this music too. and yeah eloise kind of hot in a weird way, though what's amusing is that in 30 years she looks like mrs doubtfire whereas widmore holds up fairly well.
did anyone notice the dharma guy in the black suit on the pier with the big blonde ponytail? I lolled.
also I wish kate would just die, she is basically just wandering around whinging and moaning and ruining stuff for everyone else. also her whole "killing a child how dare you" is a bit rich coming from a serial murderer.
― Local Garda, Thursday, 7 May 2009 11:31 (fifteen years ago) link
Got to say I did get big lols from Kate coming on to the sub and Sawyer and Kate just being like "oh, come ON"
― Suedey 2, Thursday, 7 May 2009 11:44 (fifteen years ago) link
Don't get me wrong, I loved this episode...but I wish it hadn't been hyped as Alpert-centric, cos it really wasn't.
― JimD, Thursday, 7 May 2009 11:48 (fifteen years ago) link
we'll buy microsoft...
― Roz, Thursday, 7 May 2009 12:01 (fifteen years ago) link
Sometimes this show feels so like a videogame, in that characters announce their motivation for doing something with a single line when actually they have to be present for some other reason. EG Sayid "I might as well go with you for some dumb reason, here I am, let's go"
― Local Garda, Thursday, 7 May 2009 12:13 (fifteen years ago) link
I did cheer when Sayid signalled his reappearance by shooting someone, but thinking about it I'm a little sad he didn't have time for a signature neck snap. Perhaps they're trying to move away from that trademark, but I for one hope for more necks being snapped in the future.

yeah, i mean dammit we need answers about that dude, but it was still funny to have the whole episode bouncing across 30 years and he's still in every scene looking the same.
― shipforbrains (some dude), Thursday, 7 May 2009 12:47 (fifteen years ago) link
not feelin '77 ellie. her mouth is weird. it's like she has braces but she doesn't?
― cutty, Thursday, 7 May 2009 12:51 (fifteen years ago) link
77 eloise seems way too tall compared to 54 eloise and 07 eloise.
― mermaphrodite (nickalicious), Thursday, 7 May 2009 12:53 (fifteen years ago) link
that's cause 77 widmore is a giant.
― Roz, Thursday, 7 May 2009 12:55 (fifteen years ago) link
Lost characters don't ask follow up questions or this show would have been over three years ago!
It's true, but I thought this was the most egregious example yet.
My theory is that one of the island's side effects is to make you epileptic so that you never quite finish a train of thought; we've never seen a scene in which Sun says 'but how ...' and then starts flopping on the beach, but I'm sure it's happened.
Sayid: 'Hi, I'm here to arm this bomb since nobody else here can, but I may be shot or be encased in a radioactive concrete sarcophagus later. Let's do this.'
― Brakhage, Thursday, 7 May 2009 14:06 (fifteen years ago) link
I'm looking forward to the Widmore-Sayid tournament snapoff
― Brakhage, Thursday, 7 May 2009 14:08 (fifteen years ago) link
srsly when locke was giving his speech about jacob and sun implores him with her question about jin--this couldn't have been written or directed a little better?
― cutty, Thursday, 7 May 2009 14:19 (fifteen years ago) link
77 eloise doesn't look old enough compared to 54 eloise and it bugs me
― akm, Thursday, 7 May 2009 14:22 (fifteen years ago) link
that was pretty clumsy
also, Kate did a great job trying to find Claire. she gave up on that mission kinda quick huh
― dmr, Thursday, 7 May 2009 14:32 (fifteen years ago) link
also there's more others than just those with locke right
yeah Locke's all "is this everybody" and Richard says "except for the ones at the Temple"

going on the DOB for each of the 3 actresses playing her they all match up pretty well agewise, but yeah she's still young-looking for 40 or late 30's.
― unban cowboy (some dude), Thursday, 7 May 2009 14:35 (fifteen years ago) link
Loved the heroes returning feeling of this episode - the blissfully-take-charge Locke as well as Jack and Sayid just having a complete "fuck this island, fuck everyone on it" mission for the first time in ages. And the finale "to action" theme as everyone said!
― Nhex, Thursday, 7 May 2009 14:37 (fifteen years ago) link
