I like that movie and that scene, but it's a trifle misleading because presidents have to pay for their own personal food; they get a bill when they leave. Only state dinners are paid for from public coffers.

So the WH kitchen wouldn't just keep e.g. shark steaks around in case the prez asks for that specific unforeseeable thing. If that were so, imagine how much perfectly good food would spoil and get tossed, just because it wasn't the subject of a late-night potuswhim.

lol shark is the most common fish and chip shop seafood there is in aus, which renders that scene a lil odd.

Shark is super high in mercury, and fun to see on dives. Don't.

I imagine this is exascerbated by having the White House kitchen making you anything you want.
