Interesting! I just assumed it was because nobody cared about such stuff--there's actual history behind it.

Tims, partly because I'm using their WiFi right now

(The answer to the question is easily Tims btw, mainly bc Starbucks is undrinkable horseshit and Tims makes a perfectly acceptable ultra-light roast, probably better than most other fast food places. For food, I don't think Tims is as good as they used to be but, again, you should still be able to get a decent ham sandwich and soup while everything at Starbucks seems like a bizarro perversion.)

Timmy big deal in Quebec as well. It's one of those institutions I keep criticising but when one of my european friends uses the same arguments than I do, I'll lose my shit and defend it to death.

Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Monday, 22 May 2017 19:28 (seven years ago) link

it was p cool

lots of people will tell you it's gotten too commercial/touristy but lots of beautiful hikes, parks, and drives in the surrounding areas

Yeah nothing wrong with White Spot whatsoever but that's another thread. Think there's probably more A&Ws than Tim Hortons in Vancouver and there's not even a glut of those.

Starbucks doesn't have a buffalo-sauce latte:

Destroy both. IF they were the only two options I'd probably take starbucks just because I of strength/caffeine content.

. it's very difficult for me to conduct business in tim hortons and not be overwhelmed with sadness

they opened one of these here (not canada), i went in when it was pretty new still i think, but overall yeah, pathetically sad place, and crazy expensive, i do not want to go there any more

Tim Hortons > the band Poison > 7-11 > literal poison > Starbucks (probably > the Buffalo latte)

No purposes. Sounds. (Sund4r), Wednesday, 18 October 2017 02:46 (six years ago) link

Tbf, though, I had coffee from an American Tims on the way back after Thanksgiving/Columbus Day and it tasted completely wrong, more like 7-11 material, so that might affect rankings (especially if they're selling Buffalo lattes).

When I was 10 or 11, 7-Up had these promotional cans in Canada where the bottom was a picture of Lighthouse or Edward Bear or Crowbar (maybe the Guess Who, too), with their name above the photo. I can't find any online evidence, but my memory is not faulty here--I was talking about them with a friend one day.

The last couple of days (and into the foreseeable future), my paper coffee cup has an illustration of Shawn Mendes on there.

This is not progress. I want to go back.
