" It is an argument, instead, for using a constitutional mechanism more appropriate to this strange situation than impeachment: the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which allows for the removal of the president if a majority of the cabinet informs the Congress that he is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office” and (should the president contest his own removal) a two-thirds vote by Congress confirms the cabinet’s judgment."

The majority of the cabinet are people who've voluntarily aligned themselves not with the GOP necessarily but with Trump (let that sink in for a moment). So imagine where the 25th amendment talk is going to go.

Like these are people who would never ever ever ever ever have held the positions they currently hold if they hadn't been appointed by a lunatic know-nothing. They're clinging tenaciously.

Would be awesome if Trump took down Fallon, too:

Post Trump we're going to have to unplug the country, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it in again and hope for the best.

OMG, he's extending the impish trolling of his cabinet appointment strategy into the realm of foreign policy. Guess we're dead, huh.

what are the odds that at some point while writing this speech, Miller turns to Bannon and says "Fuck it, let's do it and be legends, man"

100%. They're about to "shift the conversation" to what really matters, "radical Islam."

They'd rather provoke a diplomatic crisis on the basis of a "hard line on Islam" than stay mired in this Comey stuff.

I think the assertions about Trump's dementia are possibly wrongheaded. I don't think we're seeing a degenerative neurological condition but rather the monstrous end result of someone who has spent decades in a vacuum where nothing they say or do has any real negative consequence and who's had the means to ensure that his ever-swelling ego was never challenged in any meaningful way. A good behavioral psychologist could probably reproduce this beast in his well-hidden South American lab.
