So who narrated the clip show tonight? When I found out it wasn't Michael Emerson I didn't stick around.

It was Werner Herzog iirc

According to the episode's Lostpedia entry it doesn't sound like there was any new illuminating perspective or anything. Just a clipshow.

This show appears to give us an answer to one of the show's mysteries when Carbonell states that it was Charles Widmore who faked the wreckage of Flight 815.

^^we already knew this, right?

Next episode's called "The Variable". Centered round Des or Faraday I hope?

invitation to rabies (╓abies), Thursday, 23 April 2009 07:29 (fifteen years ago) link

Both I hope. Desmond fans are getting severely fucked over in this series but they've got to bring him back properly sometime soon, and his main relationship seems to be with Faraday now. But probably a Faraday ep - he seems to be the character to move the plot forward in a big way as they've been hinting since the start of the season.

It was Werner Herzog iirc

oh man, Werner Herzog describing Hurley throwing a Hot Pocket at Ben = the best of all possible worlds.

Anyway according to lostpedia it was Nestor Carbonell. Whenever they let the character actors narrate I always wish they'd let them self-editorialize, like describe everyone else all-business and then say things like "the sensual, eternally handsome Richard Alpert, whose eyelashes are naturally that luxuriant." Beats hearing about how Claire is Jack's sister for the third year running.

the devil's runes (reddening), Thursday, 23 April 2009 08:32 (fifteen years ago) link

I can see them doing more backstory type stuff, eg we all are going to know what Faraday knows or why he's there or something he did 20 years ago rather than anything new, sigh...

Local Garda, Thursday, 23 April 2009 09:51 (fifteen years ago) link

What he knows and why he's there is probably very significant seeing as he's the only one who knows how all that time travel shit works and how they can get back to 2007 before Ben gasses them all.

He'll probably get unstuck in time which should help them to cover all the bases at once. Which means more of his annoying mum.

Enormous Epic (Matt DC), Thursday, 23 April 2009 09:57 (fifteen years ago) link

All of the above means less monster/others, who cares if they get back or not, haha.

Local Garda, Thursday, 23 April 2009 10:00 (fifteen years ago) link

it would be cool if they jump fwd again to around Purge time - maybe the Incident could trigger that

i wonder if they'd actually show us Radzinsky blowing his brains out (bringing him into it does suggest this but it's not necessary, just neat) - seeing him enter numbers/push the button for the first time would be cool

Hard House SugBanton (blueski), Thursday, 23 April 2009 10:31 (fifteen years ago) link

My biggest worry is that it'll get too caught up with the whole how Faraday came to love Charlotte back story and we'll have a new Rose/Bernard wet blanket all over again. But the name of the episode alone I think points to some big shit going down, so worst case scenario if it gets a bit bloated by Lost fumbling to make you feel things there'll at least be some payoff. + they've seemed to have cut back on that stuff quite a bit this season so I'm optimistic.

i wish the 'previously on lost' guy had narrated.

how they can get back to 2007 before Ben gasses them all.

Thought that said "before Ben glasses them all". Season 4 finale: BIG FIGHT in EAST END PUB.

'Lost' Star Sued for Sexual Harassment

Posted Apr 24th 2009 7:45PM by TMZ Staff

Henry Ian Cusick, who plays Desmond on the show "Lost," is being sued for sexual harassment.

According to a lawsuit filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, Chelsea Stone claims that while working on the show, Cusick placed his hand on her buttocks and caressed the back of her body while making moaning sounds.

She also claims Cusick "placed his face on top of her breasts, moving his face from side to side." He then squeezed her breasts with his hands.

According to the lawsuit, approximately twelve days after this went down, Stone was let go. ABC and Grass Skirt Productions are also named as defendants. She is seeking unspecified damages.

Cusick's rep had no comment.

Dunno, there are still loads of Others left in 2007 aren't there? The ones that Locke was supposed to lead and before he suddenly vanished. They only really killed off the hard dudes. We still know less about the Others than anything else on the show and it doesn't look they're in much of a hurry to tell us what their deal is before next series.

Meh to the Monster now. It's good when it's smashing things up but everything they hint at on top of that is a bit lame. They won't explain that until next year either. It needs to spend more time wreaking carnage and less time going "Egyptian gods, ghosts, woooo".

yeah lostpedia has a pretty strict spoiler policy and never mentions whose centric episode it is more than a week before it airs. we'll see, some of the other forums seem to think that it's gonna be a locke episode.

the report on ew about henry ian cusick is even more o_0

Stone says that ABC and production company Grass Skirt Entertainment, which are also named as defendants, did nothing to keep her away from Cusick after she complained and, over the next several days, the actor and fellow employees became "very hostile" toward her.

On Oct. 28, 2007, Stone was informed that she had been fired, the lawsuit states.

Per the suit, "plaintiff suffered humiliation and severe mental and emotional distress, and suffered injury when by means of her stress Plaintiff miscarried," causing Stone to incur various medical expenses and suffer 'physical injuries, physical sickness, substantial losses in earnings" and other indignities.

they're not going to succeed in detonating that bomb.

Roz, Thursday, 30 April 2009 05:42 (fifteen years ago) link

GREAT 100th episode btw

Roz, Thursday, 30 April 2009 05:49 (fifteen years ago) link

of course they are TOTALLY going to succeed, it will cause the so-called incident and blow the main characters back to the present. fate!

(much like Desmond trying to buck fate at the end of S2 by NOT pushing the button and causing the hatch to blow up. symmetry!)

Nhex, Thursday, 30 April 2009 06:28 (fifteen years ago) link

1. the others have a cure for gun wounds to the chest. will they use it?
2. detonating the bomb is a really stupid idea. it would presumably kill ALL of the people on the island, which would be worse than anything that's happened to them. not even going into the paradoxes involved.

abanana, Thursday, 30 April 2009 06:32 (fifteen years ago) link

i thought detonating the bomb means they DON'T cause the incident?

Roz, Thursday, 30 April 2009 06:35 (fifteen years ago) link

that's Faraday's logic, but going by the show's track record of people trying to do the "right thing" and having it accomplish exactly what they didn't want to happen...

Nhex, Thursday, 30 April 2009 07:07 (fifteen years ago) link

exactly. which means they'll try but won't succeed at detonating the bomb, but in trying they'll cause the huge release of energy at the Swan site (ie the incident) and thus not negating seasons 1-4.

Roz, Thursday, 30 April 2009 07:24 (fifteen years ago) link

seriously lol @ the writers going "we don't like paradoxes" last season.

Roz, Thursday, 30 April 2009 07:26 (fifteen years ago) link

1. the others have a cure for gun wounds to the chest. will they use it?

Faraday will lose his innocence forever.

Roz, Thursday, 30 April 2009 07:27 (fifteen years ago) link

not a great ep but got better as it went along. radzinski really is a fucking annoying jerk. somebody needs to knife him while he's in the middle of his WoW marathon.

also have to lol at Lost's vision of Britain, where everybody (except Charlie's "Meet the Sean Beans" family) is a relative of Queen Victoria and speaks in Hank Kingsley's "British" accent.

Local Garda, Thursday, 30 April 2009 11:22 (fifteen years ago) link

They really need an Irish character for season 6.
