A guy was trying to convince me to be a mason yesterday.
Don't you have to be invited?

I kinda had this distrust thing happening when he started to tell me about all the MONEY that they can't possibly manage and how they need someone to manage it.
Was he from the Grand Lodge of Lagos, Nigeria?

I've always wondered about it. I drive past their monster huge temple every morning. My wife and I were married in the Albert Pike Hotel. One of my grandfathers was a Shriner and the other grandfather "took some classes". It sounds a lot like Scientology, except for the fact that they do control everything.
Still, to be on the other side of a secret society for once and not behind Rowdy Roddy Piper's sunglasses is somewhat appealing to my curiosity. That, and the Masonic temples are usually the only places to get a drink in dry rural counties.

I really, really would like to become a Mason, mostly out of curiosity.

I AM CURIOUS (Mason)
Masons are old and smell weird. Why not join the Rotary Club?

The Rotary Club is pretty rad because they had a barbecue in the park across the street from my house. They hired a trombone quartet and asked me if I wanted hamburgers, which I did, because I am secretly Jughead.
They seem like Lion's Club minus eyesight mission to me.

The Shriner grandfather told me that I could never be a Mason since I had been baptized Catholic and therefore could possibly spill some beans in confession. He encouraged me to seek out the Knights of Columbus instead.
