it doesn't matter, soon enough personal time off won't exist in the modern workplace, DOOMED

Everybody gets their birthday off where I work. Apparently this was done years ago as recompense when they took away some holiday (Good Friday, I think). And it's GREAT.

I'm always happy to work on Good Friday, just as a thumb in the eye of the theocracy.

I didn't know that people actually have birthdays

Whenever I have to work with someone and it's their actual birthday I find they have no interest in being there or doing any work anyway.

When I work on my birthday I think about how it's my birthday and just sort of go "Oh." maybe 3 or 4x throughout the day.

any pretext your co-workers deem justifiable for a "sick" day should be taken advantage of. as long as they're fine with it, OF COURSE I am going to do it.

Had no idea this was a "thing"

i think it is natural to avoid a place of death when you are celebrating your continued survival

I've done a few extra hours this week and they're giving me a half day in lieu. Which I am using to leave a couple of hours early on my birthday in a couple of weeks and come in a couple of hours late the next day. I guess it depends if I have anything planned on my birthday if I take time off or not. This year I do.

Just noise and screaming and no musical value at all. (Colonel Poo), Friday, 25 July 2014 09:59 (nine years ago) link
