I wouldn't say no, but he was, um uncommunicative when we tried to get something together in the past (previous incarnation of the band was slated to be one of earworm's final releases - didn't work out)

(but hey anybody who wants some artwork done point 'em my way, I work for cheap and/or free)

And to answer yr question, PP, it was just with some inky ball point, like a midline-price 12-pack kind you get from office supply stores, and a Sharpie to fill in the blacker fields. Same as comics, yeah. If I want to print or scan them, I usually just photocopy them first, which yields crisp lines & perfectly even black fields w/out scratchy pen/overlapping Sharpie marks.

I didn't get to photocopy that one (it's the original), so it still has sharpie overlap lines. :(

In the meantime Shakey, can you say a bit about how you draw your images? Pen and ink + colours in Photoshop? I am curious about the mechanics of it.

I've gotta go right now but briefly process is - pencil sketch->lightbox + black old-school rapidograph pen->scan into photoshop->fill in colors

altho sometimes I'll add the colors prior to scanning and kinda work with those in photoshop

(there's also a fair amount of collage work)

This is one I did for our Christmas E.P. I don't think the font for the label's logo goes, but I had to use it. The image is great though. It's from CHRISTMAS DAY DINNER held by CHICAGO BEACH HOTEL at CHICAGO ILL; (HOTEL).

I just did a triptych of tools for a friend (hammer, screwdriver & wrench, all truncated) with really fatty/glommy brush strokes. It was super fun. I've been working on this fucking space crab/shrimp critter portrait for abt 2 years and I'm almost done but not quite. :(

i think everyone should paint! or make art. and music. homemade art and music is joy. (maybe keep the homemade writing to yerself though. hahaha! oh god that's mean. but it's kinda true...er, not talking about anyone here. i already know how talented most ilxors really are. just in general. don't mind me. it's the hefeweizen talking.)

i just use cheap acrylic paint. i'm scared of oil paint.
