Yeah, but it's the only baby we know of so far that was both conceived on and born on the Island--they said that Reiko was supposed to leave the island to give birth, which was probably the procedure for all Dharma births.

More Horus/Horace stuff, regarding the healing of the eye: Horace has glasses for the first few times he appears, but in later scenes has no glasses due to the healing effects of the Island.

He probably misses his old glasses.

BTW who is Reiko?

Strangely, I just watched a DW Griffith movie, Orphans of the Storm about the French revolution. It had a character named LaFleur--sort of a henchman of the aristocrats.

Reiko Aylesworth-- the actress from 24 who was in this episode giving birth.

Yeah, they're going to show us a baby being born, not tell us his name right away, and then let us assume it dies when he's like 10 years old? Charlotte and Miles (if he's Dr. Candle's son) didn't die in the purge.

the security dude down in the station who was dancing with the girl looked really familiar ... any idea what he was from? pretty sure i've seen the actor in some other movies or tv shows

i don't know, it's always been implied that horace was a father figure of sorts to ben - when the purge happened, it was horace's body that ben cared for more than his own dad. knowing ben, i don't think he would have taken too kindly to horace's son. xp

wtf even if that baby does die in the purge they're going to tell us who he is, but assuming he's someone significant I am pretty sure he's not going to die in the purge.

really the only reason i don't think the baby's that important is because there's no male character left who's about charlotte's age or slightly younger whose parents we know nothing about.

although (drunk theory time) maybe the baby is Jacob? could explain why he's trapped in the cabin that his father Horace built. and if Jacob did order the purge, then that could tie in somehow with all the dad-killers on the show.

I think Ethan and/or Goodwin look too old to be that baby.

Jacob is one of the only things I wondered about.

I can think of one reason why Charlotte is younger than she's supposed to be in the future - if she left the island via the frozen donkey wheel, she could've skipped a few years.

Charlotte doesn't contradict this information, so apparently she believes that she was born in 1979, even though she looked like she was 2 in 1977?

it is confusing. she knew she had been there, but her memories were a bit fragmented, no? perhaps because of some sort of time-shift trauma?

Unless 1979 is the date on her birth certificate (maybe manufactured by her mom?), but she secretly knows that she was born earlier:
