for the record, my mom was raped as a child, and this kind of patriarchal bullshit destroyed her. i am a product of that, so that explains my emotional pitch in that thread. ultimately i agree with mordy that it (probably) isn't a productive approach. i do get frustrated by the same people towing the same line on thread after thread. this pov always gets called crazy when it raises its voice, and i'm guilty of the crime of copping out by going "jokes" because my courage is weak, but some part of me wishes that maybe it can still make a dent if it's sharp enough.
