Yeah there's a bunch of brand new shit on Lansdowne now. Also that whole area is getting all fancy--the axe of gentrification is COMING FOR SOUTHIE. (I live near Fenway and this is why I know all this, not because I actively spend time on Lansdowne.) Also that IHOP is gone but there is now one in Harvard Square.

that ihop was the nexus for all sorts of illegal activities in the early and mid 90s. i can remember going there with my pop before bosox games as a kid then going there again with friends in high school and college. my older sister's college boyfriend used to work security and back bar at the rathskellar, some of my earliest shows were at the rat. fuck that town, seriously, if i wind up moving back there i will so f'ing disappointed.

i like the climate in oregon better but the people down east are more real. pdx (the last time i was there) was over run with self-conscious hipsters. but i do have a lot of friends there.
