i think ajira airways crashed in 2007/2008 and three kings dude + sayid's escort + whoever else were prob the people in that boat shooting at the time-jumpers. Those people didn't crash in the 70s because they weren't meant to be there.

So what year does resurrected Locke end up in?

I just think IRL if someone told me about a moving island I'd probably wanna know a little more that these guys did before I hopped on a plane to magically get back to it for no reason.

I mean sure, yeah, when Sawyer doesn't ask Locke what he's been doing in the jungle for the last two episodes...I can deal...but it's a MOVING ISLAND FFS

It isn't for no reason it is to find Jin, and to stop Juliet, Sawyer etc from dying.

Pancakes Hackman is OTM really. And we don't yet know what Locke said to Jack and how he convinced him, which is the really important bit. I think Jack probably has an idea precisely why they need to go back.

Well, they knew the island was weird already. They saw even saw it move. It sounded like Hawking was saying "yes--it does move and it's hard to find but we figured out how to find it." I don't know what Jack & Sun could have asked her at that point--to explain the physics of the movement in greater detail?

Basically I'm really looking forward to the inevitable bit where Jin, Hurley and Sawyer meet Horace and are all like "uh, sorry we snapped your head off dude".

it was Ben's dick of a dad, Roger "Workman" whose head they snapped off.. I do agree though that Sawyer will bring total Dharma LOLs & I can't wait.

loved the reappearance of the vw bus btw - the island always delivers w/those details

If Frank is meant to be on the island, then presumably he'd have been pulled out of the plane in the flash, just like jack/hurley/kate, right? Which would leave the plane without a pilot. So yeah, seems more likely that the rest of the passengers would end up crashing than flying on to Guam.

maybe the island sometimes moves to near BERMUDA

i feel like ive said this before but one of the things i love love love about this show is its use of the earnest 70s new-age science shit that dharma does (incl. the richard alpert reference which my parents have a guffaw about every wed)--i feel like that milieu (or whatever) doesnt show up often enough in sci fi

Yeah Frank is so going back to the Island. I bet the creepy guy who's following them is as well (some Widmore lackey maybe). Interesting that Ben didn't seem bothered by his presence, maybe he intended him to be there, or maybe he just didn't care. It was Hurley who was most concerned about minimising the number of passengers on the plane.

but why though? i can understand wanting to find Jin but why would the O6 not leaving mean that the rest wouldn't die? If they hadn't left, wouldn't they also be time-skipping, and nose-bleeding with the rest and they would still have to go and fix the wheel anyway? it's totally not clear why the O6 needed to be on the island aside from some vague destiny still unfulfilled. but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with saving the ones left behind.

i bet we will FIND OUT!

the problem with finding out why is that Locke is the person who's supposed to have told them why they needed to go back, but so far Locke only knows what we know. xp

The words from his father prompt Ben to run out of the house. He runs to the sonic fence, but stops just before he reaches it. He hears a brief whisper, then his mother appears on the other side of the fence. He goes to move towards her but she shouts, "Don't!" She says it's not time yet. Ben yells to her, then turns to go back home.
