as in a soccer coach for overweight kids? or he becomes very overweight and then coaches kids' soccer?

gangsa paradise (tehresa), Wednesday, 11 February 2009 14:18 (fifteen years ago) link

hopefully both

O Supermanchiros (blueski), Wednesday, 11 February 2009 14:21 (fifteen years ago) link

Sayid was overweight, the kids looked like regular ~6 year olds

peter in montreal, Wednesday, 11 February 2009 15:41 (fifteen years ago) link

but did you see any of the kids kill someone with their feet, a dishwasher, or an IV?

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 11 February 2009 18:09 (fifteen years ago) link

Dude--was that Hurley's voice saying the numbers on the transmission?

President Keyes, Thursday, 12 February 2009 02:05 (fifteen years ago) link

It would be cool if 'Eloise' is not Farraday's mother, it's been obvious all season.

Mahatma Blagojevich (redmond), Thursday, 12 February 2009 03:02 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm going say that Charlotte was Radzinsky's daughter.

President Keyes, Thursday, 12 February 2009 03:03 (fifteen years ago) link

lol this show has gotten ridiculous & i still love it

max, Thursday, 12 February 2009 03:03 (fifteen years ago) link

So the "they ALL have to go back" thing is suddenly "lol not really"? Hmmm.

WmC, Thursday, 12 February 2009 03:23 (fifteen years ago) link

I think that's actually pretty awesome, if that's what happens! But next week's preview seems to imply it won't be.

Loved Ben's typical non-revealing handling of Desmond showing up. "I assume for the same reason you are!"

Was that really it for Charlotte? Hmm.

Nhex, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:09 (fifteen years ago) link

Oh yeah, that reminds me, it was cool to see Ben caught by surprise for once. (The fact that Eloise was Faraday's mother seemed to be news to him.)

WmC, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:26 (fifteen years ago) link

whats up w/russos party losing it after going in smokeys hole

ice cr?m, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:30 (fifteen years ago) link

"The Sickness" as it turns out is extreme paranoia re: Smokey.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:32 (fifteen years ago) link

she wasnt paranoid - her man tried to shoot her - something happened to them in that hole

ice cr?m, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:35 (fifteen years ago) link

Yeah, that actually WAS a twist, he really did somehow become evil! Really wasn't expecting that, considering how crazy cakes Rousseau was. But since they DID become evil it does make sense she would be insanely paranoid! Considering the Black Smoke that day too, she must have given birth and had her baby stolen pretty soon afterwards.

Didn't they do the fake out acquiesce to empty gun thing in the first or second season of the show? It seemed really familiar.

Nhex, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:39 (fifteen years ago) link

(also explains how she knew it was a 'security system')

Nhex, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:39 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm looking forward to watching this thing all the way through in a couple of years. Imagine somebody turning this on for the first time tonight. "What the...fuck."

xpost, it was the boyfriend who called it the security system.

WmC, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:41 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm not convinced they turned evil, but you guys could be right seeing as how she's the only one who didn't follow them down there.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:45 (fifteen years ago) link

I thought what happened is that they went down in the hole and when they came out they were either being controlled by smokey or where doppelgangers so Danielle shot em

dmr, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:46 (fifteen years ago) link

*were

dmr, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:46 (fifteen years ago) link

so I think somebody basically laid this all out upthread but the first time we see Faraday he's watching the crash on TV and crying ... I think that's supposed to be like his umpteenth time living through that moment and he knows no matter how far back he travels, tries to warn Charlotte, change this change that he can't stop the plane from crashing so he knows they're gonna go to the island and she's gonna die. that's how he knows all the time travel rules, been jumping around trying to keep charlotte from dying (I do think she's done for good btw, seemed like her backstory pretty much got wrapped up)

dmr, Thursday, 12 February 2009 04:49 (fifteen years ago) link

Yeah, you're probably right, they did pretty much say everything that needed to be said, I guess. Too bad we never got that flashback ep she was supposed to have last year that got cut due to the strike. Man, they BETTER cut us out of a Miles episode.. oh who am I kidding.

I know the boyfriend told her, she referred to it as a security system to the 815ers in the first season. ("Its purpose is that of any security system; to protect something.") What I mean, that's why she refers to it as that, because he told her/he knows - she didn't come up with it from nowhere.

dmr: Good theory! You could very well be right.

Nhex, Thursday, 12 February 2009 05:15 (fifteen years ago) link

Is that the first time we've seen where Smokey comes from?

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 12 February 2009 05:25 (fifteen years ago) link

we've seen him come out of holes in the ground but yeah was that "The Temple"? I don't think we've seen that before. I guess that's what he's protecting?

that scene where the well turned into a rope in the dirt was pretty sweet

dmr, Thursday, 12 February 2009 05:34 (fifteen years ago) link

but did you see any of the kids kill someone with their feet, a dishwasher, or an IV?

it wasn't a dishwasher, he killed them with KNIVES!

gangsa paradise (tehresa), Thursday, 12 February 2009 05:46 (fifteen years ago) link

the reason locke had to die was because he promised not to bring sun back to the island right

ice cr?m, Thursday, 12 February 2009 12:58 (fifteen years ago) link

I loved Ben's "I told you he didn't come to see me. I went to see him." I didn't lie Jack--you just stoopid.

So did Ben kill Locke or just steal the ring?

President Keyes, Thursday, 12 February 2009 13:38 (fifteen years ago) link

WANKERS PUTTING LOST TORRENTS UP THAT DEMAND A PASSWORD BEFORE YOU CAN WATCH THEM WHICH YOU NEED TO DO SOME BULLSHIT SPAM SURVEY TO GET: YOU ARE ABSOLUTE SCUM

Local Garda, Thursday, 12 February 2009 13:52 (fifteen years ago) link

I think the real french guys died in the hole and Smokey assumed their bodies (see Yemi, still on the fence about Christian Shepherd [ps nice burn on Locke, not helping him up])

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Thursday, 12 February 2009 14:41 (fifteen years ago) link

oops I neglected to read far enough down, sorry dmr!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Thursday, 12 February 2009 14:43 (fifteen years ago) link

at first i thought the arm time-traveled because sun's foot was too close to it but then was like 'oh they just traveled like 2 weeks.' bummer.

gangsa paradise (tehresa), Thursday, 12 February 2009 15:17 (fifteen years ago) link

why the hell is Christian Shepherd some kind of island public affairs representative now? is he infected by smokey too?

Local Garda, Thursday, 12 February 2009 15:40 (fifteen years ago) link

maybe it wasn't really him ;)

lucky girl LOL (tehresa), Thursday, 12 February 2009 15:41 (fifteen years ago) link

He and Smoke are 2 manifestations of the same thing, the island itself.

WmC, Thursday, 12 February 2009 15:41 (fifteen years ago) link

So Sun, Jack, and Ben driving around LA for 45 minutes would have been another perfect chance for characters to lay out a bunch of details and communicate with each other about what's happening. Instead Ben just freaks out, hints at a bunch of stuff, and the other two stare at him and ask no follow up questions. Good job.

Easter Time / Chocolate Time (joygoat), Thursday, 12 February 2009 15:43 (fifteen years ago) link

what about jacob? is he the island too?

Local Garda, Thursday, 12 February 2009 15:50 (fifteen years ago) link

so when Locke jumps to the real world can he walk? his leg is nasty broken and he's supposed to paralyzed off the island

dmr, Thursday, 12 February 2009 16:21 (fifteen years ago) link

maybe he kills himself due to his meaningless off island life

Local Garda, Thursday, 12 February 2009 16:37 (fifteen years ago) link

maybe he goes back to work at the box factory

ice cr?m, Thursday, 12 February 2009 16:40 (fifteen years ago) link

what about jacob? is he the island too?

I think so, but it's just a guess.

Last night I was thinking Locke would have internal injuries from the fall, and eventually die from them. I wonder if he'll pop up in Tunisia or somewhere else.

WmC, Thursday, 12 February 2009 16:41 (fifteen years ago) link

also is the wheel thing fucked up cos ben did it, but locke basically fixes it again. is this the end of the time jumps?

i like the way christian said "you just have to give it a little push" and then locke PULLED the wheel

Local Garda, Thursday, 12 February 2009 16:43 (fifteen years ago) link

Don't know if this was upthread but my guess is that the island is going to stop skipping now and the kids upstairs (Sawyer etc) have been stuck in whatever time it was at that moment. Let's hope it's mid70s and we'll see young Charlotte, Ben, etc!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Thursday, 12 February 2009 17:08 (fifteen years ago) link

Ha yeah, good catch with the pull vs. push! I did think that was an awkward shot, it must've been intentional.

The revelation that Ben wasn't supposed to move the island is a pretty big deal - the question is did he realize it and was just manipulating Locke? This season seems to be pushing Ben in a "Good" direction, even if he's just as much of a liar and manipulator as ever. Of course this ignores the Widmore revenge scheme, but his defense of Jack and seemingly earnest protest this episode...

Nhex, Thursday, 12 February 2009 17:13 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah i thought it was strange that he was on the side where it would have been counter-clockwise if he'd pushed. maybe counter-clockwise = jump back in time and clockwise = forward, so when the wheel was shaking back and forth that's why they were jumping between future and past? dunno.

anyway i think maybe the pull will give them one last jump back to present maybe?

lucky girl LOL (tehresa), Thursday, 12 February 2009 17:29 (fifteen years ago) link

I thought the geronimo jackson mention was really awkward and forced. I kind of don't like it when the show does that, it seems overly written, too telegraphed, too injokey sometimes.

akm, Thursday, 12 February 2009 17:41 (fifteen years ago) link

yah i thought the same w/wobbly wheel pushed/pulled maybe fixed - def something along those lines

ice cr?m, Thursday, 12 February 2009 17:49 (fifteen years ago) link

lol this show has gotten ridiculous & i still love it

where u been?

2 ears + 1 ❤ (Pillbox), Thursday, 12 February 2009 18:04 (fifteen years ago) link

my friend thinks they are going to "lose" a lot of people next week when they start talking science. as in, people will become v v upset w/ the show but still watch it anyway bc you can't not watch it.

lucky girl LOL (tehresa), Thursday, 12 February 2009 18:05 (fifteen years ago) link

talkin' science like Galileo dropped the orange?
