I'm lost; does this award start with a "gr" (and isn't for music)?

Public Brooding Closet (cryptosicko), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 02:42 (eleven years ago) link

Mark Harris ‏@MarkHarrisNYC
Biggest change in Oscar coverage I've seen over 20 years: At least half of it has shifted from advocacy of movies to advocacy of campaigns.

Deakins wins ASC for Skyfall

That's like his 9th ASC award; Oscar aren't going to give it to him until he shoots 3-D.

three weeks pass...

My year-end, then it's time to shut out the lights.

1. Knuckleball
2. The Pruitt-Igoe Myth
3. Free Angela Davis and All Political Prisoners
4. Inventing David Geffen
5. Promised Land
6. How to Survive a Plague
7. The House I Live In
8. The Perks of Being a Wallflower
9. Looper
10. Moonrise Kingdom

It takes me a while to see 10 I like enough to list. Lincoln and Amour I'll call Well Made Films that just don't stay with me--Zero Dark Thirty and Argo less than that, and The Master less still. I probably saw another 10-15 besides those.

Another year for Snidey McSnides to snipe that MTV had better taste than Oscars/GGs/crixes, et al.

Also what trails has Emma Watson blazed?

Gukbe, Monday, 15 April 2013 15:49 (eleven years ago) link

I suspect that this is what a list of "MTV Movie Awards" winners *should* look like, but I've never felt more my age than I have just now.

Public Brooding Closet (cryptosicko), Monday, 15 April 2013 17:20 (eleven years ago) link

LOL, I didn't even realize every single LOTR movie won. Twilight came up one half-movie short.
