i really didn't like how they killed Danielle off but otoh the coldness of it was exhilirating (ditto for Alex...don't give a toss about Carl ha ha)

but those are characters who are able to relate more directly with the main characters. Rousseau has always been v isolated which makes her backstory harder to explore and fit in with other people without just going off on a complete tangent for an entire episode (would've been cool with this if it means more island history but i can see why the writers would be reluctant to do this).

I wouldn't think so . . . she's been on it since 1988, Dharma purge was in 1992. Nothing on the show would seem to indicate that the island has been moved during that period.

Why did she bring Aaron with her to kill Ben or whatever? She's a billionairess--I'm sure she could have put him in some kind daycare.

Maybe she didn't have time to search for a daycare with an interesting anagram, hatch-style paintings of planes or an address with one of "the numbers." Pity.

also no one has really mentioned.. Rose? Bernard? I can't remember exactly what happened. They were all together at the camp, ran away when the flaming arrow people appeared and then I can't remember what happened.. Was there a scene where we saw Juliet, Sawyer & all break away from the beach camp people, what happened there?

I would love to see Ben seeing Jin while kidnapping Alex from Rousseau, but I suspect the island won't stay/won't let the losties stay in that time period long enough before a flash. Imagine, though: somehow Ben sees Jin & knows he lives, but Locke DOESN'T see Jin and thus tells Sun Ben essentially killed him.

That's true--if Locke/Bentham spoke to Sun & she still thinks Jin is dead then Locke must not see Jin before he turns the d.wheel again.

maybe in the next episode he'll whip out a photo scrapbook of Jin, Rousseau and baby Alex chilling and eating sushi to convince Sun she should go back

I'm quite looking forward to seeing all those French dudes getting capped in the next episode. I'm wondering whether it's Smokey, or whether they end up at the sharp end of the Dharma purge (is this the right time?)

The time jumps are a brilliant device for filling in bits of island backstory but the future, and the dudes in the boats, intrigued me even more. More Widmore lackeys, do we think?

The sooner they get the O6 back to the Island, or hanging out with Crazy Time Lady, the better. The only things I care about there are whatever happened between Ben and Sayid, and whatever the secrets of Sun's father's company are. The rest of it = bothered.

They're going to run into Des and Penny at some point soon as well, surely.

That said, the bit when Sawyer stumbled across Kate and Claire in the jungle was genuinely moving.

btw danielles inability to later recognize jin (as well as her seeming lack of knowledge abt time jumps etc) could be pretty easily explained by writers as "she went crazy" which is basically how they played her the whole series--as a nutcase

BE-SIX-DOUZE, or B612 (french) is the name of an asteroid. According to Wiki, the asteroid is named as a reference to "The Little Prince", who lived on an asteroid named B612.

When did the Dharma purge happen? Before or after the French dudes died? There was no evidence in that first Ben flashback that he'd found Alex by then.

I think that was a good assumption until now, since they seem to be saying it's due to island radiation/time jump overexposure. Definitely hoping that Miles is NOT Pierre Chang's kid.

Dharma purge I believe was placed in '92, thanks to Horace Goodspeed's ghost (being dead for 12 years). French dudes were there while Rousseau was pregnant, so that was 16 years before, making it 1988-ish.

Yeah, it seems like, at this point in the narrative, all bets would be off in terms of protecting the Others' secret information. It's a bit of a pox on the writing IMO that they haven't had a Juliette confessional, which would have seemed appropriate at least by some point last season.

no one ever confesses or in anyway communicates any information to anyone - its one of the tenets of the show

I can't remember very clearly but would they have been close enough to see that it was them? Probably a big stretch, but then, we've seen polar bears on this island, etc. I still want to know where Bernard and the other backgorund characters disappeared to!

yeah exactly...it'll have to be a v elaborate or silly setup to suddenly go "here's why they chased them" and "here's why they fired at them"

honestly i think they wouldve been like hay those look like they might be our friends were looking for - but you know i wouldnt put any sort of crazy plot twists past lost - i mean maybe theyre all hay those black stallions are stealing our canoe get em \(O_O)/

none of the shots hit the timejumpers because they're not supposed to die yet right? similarly if it was jack, kate etc in the other canoe they prob won't get hit either. like sawyer shooting at young charles widmore last week - missed.

juliet's been pretty bad-ass lately but she needs to start talking. it really seems as if she knows more than she lets on - she was ben's favourite lieutenant after all.

btw it's still possible that rousseau's crew is timejumping. depending on which bearing they came in, they could start consciously if not physically timejumping ala minkowski, desmond etc.

i think the length of time spent on the island only affects those who are physically timejumping.

We definitely see someone get shot (and fall in the water?) when Juliet shoots back.
