Mr. Que, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:50 (seventeen years ago) link

why don't you go make a thread about it already

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:51 (seventeen years ago) link

has anyone else here ever seen the nonsensical completely insane and basically awful movie around the world in 80 days starring steve coogan and jackie chan? because i'd like to talk about that movie right now.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:54 (seventeen years ago) link

i have seen it.

chicago kevin, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:54 (seventeen years ago) link

but i refuse to talk about it.

chicago kevin, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:54 (seventeen years ago) link

i mean, why are the wilson brothers playing the wright brothers? what do they have to do with anything? rob schneider, san fran hobo? also: that whole thing with arnold schwarzennegger and rutherford b. hayes--what??

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:55 (seventeen years ago) link

i never saw it but it looked nonsensical completely insane and basically awful

ghost rider, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:56 (seventeen years ago) link

wait the wilson brothers are playing the wright brothers? WILDCAT PEEW

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:56 (seventeen years ago) link

wait now you make it sound great tho

ghost rider, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:56 (seventeen years ago) link

i refuse to believe that kathy bates, jim broadbent, OR steve coogan had nothing better to do the day they filmed this movie.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:56 (seventeen years ago) link

to be fair, steve coogan does more drugs than all the rest of those people

ghost rider, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:57 (seventeen years ago) link

john cleese is in it too, for like a minute, i think?

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:57 (seventeen years ago) link

well then he should've stayed home, with his drugs, that day.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:57 (seventeen years ago) link

steve coogan is pretty funny, guys

river wolf, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:58 (seventeen years ago) link

i figured it was a way for everyone in hollywood who was sentenced to community service to somehow get out of it. like it was produced by the state of california and participating in lieu of picking up trash on the highway got them a clean record.

chicago kevin, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:58 (seventeen years ago) link

OH AND RICHARD BRANSON IS IN IT TOO--WHY?

i am thinking of this movie, btw, because tom said last night, "why hasn't owen wilson been in a time travel movie?" and i replied, "he has been, the one where he was a wright brother" and then immediately realized THAT DOESN'T MAEK SENSE BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A TIME TRAVEL MOVIE AT ALL.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:59 (seventeen years ago) link

shanghai knights was essentially a time travel movie

river wolf, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 18:59 (seventeen years ago) link

Presumably an attemp to recrate the golden years of all star caper comedies like 'It's a mad mad mad world', 'Those magnificent men in their flying machines' montecarlo or bust', 'the gumball rally' etc.

All movies I'd rather see

Ed, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 19:01 (seventeen years ago) link

also, why is Kate Hudson?

horseshoe, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 19:01 (seventeen years ago) link

horseshoe, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 19:03 (seventeen years ago) link

haha beartraps

srsly, why doesn't Charlie Murphy have a huge movie career?

horseshoe, Wednesday, 18 April 2007 19:03 (seventeen years ago) link

because they were dishonest in the trailers and did not show us that mickey rooney and charlie murphy and paul rudd were all in this.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Wednesday, 18 April 2007 19:03 (seventeen years ago) link
