I was taking my parents on a trip around England by dirigible. We set down somewhere and my dad was complaining about Oasis fans, saying he couldn't understand why anyone would listen to such crap. I saw White Chocolate Cheesecake sitting at a bench and I introduced her to my parents as Kate Middleton. We asked "is it true that all Oasis fans are Tories". She gave us a sly look and replied "why don't you head 'round the ends and find out" nodding toward a teeming football stadium blasting the music of Oasis.

- dreamt that my former boss accused me, on the floor of the bookstore with customers around, of being a liar and thief and decreed that i would be henceforth tracked by nano quadrotor drones
- iatee, a coworker, was using an encrypted im protocol to plan a revolt, but our boss cracked it

very unrealistic, he could never get past my encryption techniques

i had a dream last night that ilx was a giant shopping mall, and we all worked there. i don't remember much except that djp, who worked with me in the food court, was successful in getting the phone number of some passing girl by offering up a very convincing lie that jimi hendrix was his uncle.

roxy played bass in my band. we were playing our first gig, opening up for aerosmith (actual aerosmith, not underrated aerosmith). I was the lead singer, but we only had enough microphone cable to plug directly into the wall, so I was kinda behind the piano. I was yelling into the microphone, trying to amp the crowd up, and they were eating it up for a while, but we couldn't start because the children's choir was missing. eventually the children's choir showed up, but much of the audience had gotten up and wandered off. I stormed offstage after one song, and had grown a kilt and long red hair.

I had this long, motion-picture length dream about Lindsay Lohan. There was a full cast of characters and some sort of plot about moving from L.A. to New York. I can't remember most of it, but at the end, Z_S and I were traveling with her and we stopped at this outdoor library on a farm. We were standing near a stack full of Ruruoni Kenshin manga, when Lilo took me aside and asked me to help look for her postal scale (this kind, not the digital kind). She thought she had dropped it somewhere, but couldn't go back to look because there was a squad of cops in the library and she didn't want to violate her probation. So Z_S and I went looking around, in drawers and kiosks, but didn't find it. Finally, we were walking down a dirt road past a bunch of people playing beach volleyball, when I kicked a rat and watched it scurry away down the road. Z_S realized that the rat had the postal scale in its mouth! With renewed spirits at having finally spotted our quarry, we took off after it into the woods. That's around when I woke up.

Last night, Get Bent was smoking cigarettes on the side of the road. There was a coffee shop with Joni Mitchell playing a small gig outside of it. Joni invited the audience to participate by blowing - jugband-style - into these jugs that were shaped like toilets and also served as ashtrays. Get Bent wasn't into the ashtray toilet jugs and went back to smoking. She showed me her harmonica and rare miniature harmonica amp, but then pulled out a Beastie Boys CD and plugged it into this trippy oscilloscope. Then we were under an overpass and this emo mall punk band was running all around us, but at the same time their video was playing on my tablet. Yeah, they were teenage mall punk, but they really transcended the form.

I haven't listened to your podcast yet, but I guess now I will.

I dreamed all my teeth, they were all coming out and they were black and shitty looking, and there was a lucid part of me that was horrified, thinking "when you dream about your teeth falling out, that's really really bad luck, a death in the family and so on." But I'm walking around with a handful of busted teeth, and my friend Basia-- blond hair, Polish genes, perfect teeth, perfect skin, wearing a stole-- she says, "ah don't worry. My teeth fell out years ago" and gives me a gleaming acrylic smile.

I thought teeth falling out meant something else but I can't remember what.

I had TWO ilx dreams in a row, it was weird.

The first one was obv. inspired by the new My Bloody Valentine album because Ned was supposed to give a lecture on stage before MBV played music from their new album. It was going to be broadcast on tv. Ned came out wearing a glam rock gold lamé shirt that had v-neck down to his waist and lots of people were laughing at him. I was so mortified for him.

In the second one Aero was being catfished by a fictional ilxor (obv. inspired by Luna) and he took a bunch of other ilxors (including me) on a cross country trip on his tour bus to California to confront this person. He kept crying and I felt really uncomfortable because I couldn't take any more days off of work for the trip but didn't want to seem like an unsympathetic dick.

I think that's a sign I've spent too much time on ilx lately...

I don't know why I've had so many ilx dreams lately or why so many of them co-star Z_S.

I kind think Ned could pull off gold lamé tbh.

a few nights back i had a dream where me and ned were trying to outrun the police in a depression-era jalopy because we were paper moon-esque bible salesmen scam artists. ned had a handlebar mustache even though his hair was still long. i wore a derby hat and kept berating him. the only line i remember was "we wouldn't be in this mess if you could just keep it in your pants!"

kenny rogers's "the gambler" was the soundtrack. so i woke up confused as to whether the dream was "real" or i was dreaming about a movie ned and i had starred in.

I had a really interesting one last night.

I was in a pretty ornate, opulent antique store of sorts... and masturbating (sorry, TMI). I have masturbation dreams a lot. Anyway, then this antique store kinda transformed into a huge, open plan kind of studio, and I was MOLDING CLAY really poorly, sloppily, and I couldn't keep anything held together (it wasn't like clay was in real life, it was much MUSHIER). And then FORKS was suddenly there, kinda helping me keep everything together, and interlacing his hands with mine and we made this gigantic clay thing like delia deetz would make from Beetlejuice! It was kinda poignant.

That's so sweet.

I don't know what's up with my flood of ilx dreams lately. I'm getting horrible nights of sleep these days though. Dreams have been memorable at least. Don't know if that's better than not remembering dreams at all. It would be nice to get a good balance.

Last nights dreams were mostly ilx-free, as far as I can remember, except for a cameo by some dude, who was on the radio talking about getting laid off from his job at Royal Farms. When I went into the Royal Farms, there were all these jabbering, laughing maniacs who worked there, but I ordered some fries anyway. I began to notice the place was crawling with bugs. First a stream of ants, then these cockroaches doing backflips off of everything, then finally a giant, killer centipede with these deep-black eyes.

Then I woke up this morning and saw the Yelp thread:

i was in a sporting goods shop. tennis rackets of various brands and vintages were displayed here and there amid the shorts and shirts and shoes. one racket on the wall caught my eye. it was an orange and black, wilson hammer-like monstrosity. the michael jones signature racket. i thought "no way did michael sign off on this piece of garbage! his rackets have class."

every so often i dream about the world ending ... been having these dreams since i was a kid. what's up with that? they're usually sort-of cool and have pretty long plot lines. sometimes it's the sun exploding, other times it's the earth wasting away or human life dying off. sometimes they're about invading armies, occassionally taking the form of aliens or snake people. maybe i watched too many bad movies growing up.

Incidentally, a couple days ago I was in the Dominican republic, worrying that I might accidentally ingest water that would lead to similar troubles. ;)

some spam mob sent me a paper letter in the physical post, notifying me that as a 'ZING® ON IPHONE' customer i could choose three services from a list of services to combine with my 'ZING® ON IPHONE' experience. i was so annoyed about being sold out for letterbox spam that i woke up.

(the 'woke up' bit really happened, it's 6 am here)
