80% for you, Tuomas. Rrr.Also I seem to be 85% for Melissa W. Obviously OKCupid doesn't realise we would kill each other within 5 minutes if we ever met due to massive disagreements about which Bjork and Radiohead albums are good.
I REALLY ONLY SIGNED UP BECAUSE DOM ASKED ME WHAT TYPE I WAS. Ugh. Now I'm asking people who've wooed me how I should get my hair cut.

There seems to be a new feature there, you can add comments to a friend's profile (she'll have to accept them first, obviously). I tried it with my friend, it seems to be working, though there's some delay before you get to accept the comment.

okcupid and internet personals in general fuse my soul into a ball of angry angry wax. either everyone on them looks "oh, hey, they're too cool for me" or "omg what frikin losers, i would be bored with them in a minute" or "we are going to have zilch in common" just pretty much depending on my mood.
anyway, it makes me v.v. mad/confused that i keep getting matched with these types. of course, it seems like the only other types on the system in boston are all "omg i like sports and partying and going to bars with friends, and especially the SOX."
oh, right. i realized the problem.
this is boston.

I logged into this and everything was just the same as I left it 3 or so years ago. It said I owned a house and had a BF. It was weird.
― roxymuzak, Monday, 5 November 2007 06:05 (eighteen years ago)
Weird, I went back and deleted mine not 3 minutes ago!
― Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 5 November 2007 06:06 (eighteen years ago)
Haw! I never even saw yours, I don't think.
― roxymuzak, Monday, 5 November 2007 06:13 (eighteen years ago)
Did you see Dom's
― Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 5 November 2007 06:20 (eighteen years ago)
I don't remember ever seeing it, but upthread I state that he is my lowest match of all time, or something.
― roxymuzak, Monday, 5 November 2007 08:11 (eighteen years ago)
I'd all forgotten about OKCupid, but then a couple of months ago I got an email that I had an unread message there, which eventually lead to a date with the girl who messaged me. Not much came out of it though. Most of my local matches are still goths or LARPers, so I guess nothing's really changed.
― Tuomas, Monday, 5 November 2007 08:46 (eighteen years ago)
forgive me, but what's a "LARPer"?
― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:51 (eighteen years ago)
Use one google, Tuomas.
― G00blar, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:53 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, sorry. Force of habit.
Someone who does Live Action Role Playing. They're a very noticable and irritating subculture in here (which obviously overlaps with some other subcultures, like goths or fantasy/sci-fi fans).
― Tuomas, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:55 (eighteen years ago)
I mean, I have nothing against roleplaying as such, but in my experience many LARPers think that this special hobby of theirs somehow makes them better than the common people. They even have a special condescending word for "mundane" people who don't larp.
― Tuomas, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:58 (eighteen years ago)
Where does Norwegian Death Metal fit into this equation?
xpost
― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:59 (eighteen years ago)
so i haven't logged in to this place in like 2 years but randomly decided to today. how come like 90% of my matches are 5'6" and all the people that message me are 23?
― tehresa, Monday, 18 February 2008 03:53 (eighteen years ago)
How come all the cute boys live in Chicago? Or, most of them.
― Casuistry, Monday, 18 February 2008 04:23 (eighteen years ago)
The American ones, anyways.
