^^^^Everybody read this; it's amazing.
Weirdly, yesterday an older acquaintance of mine (ex-AP on Ready Steady Go) was fairly adamant that GG was to be arrested. Seems he was the programme's audience wrangler and used to hive girls off to a room...

Sounds like information the police might find useful. Don't worry - I'll take care of it.

CG&T - you need to dial it down a bit, lest passers-by mistake you for a common troll.

Yes, after the shrieking hysterical post I made above perhaps I really ought to dial things down a little. That must be it - can't think of any other reason you would call me a troll.

Suzy: Metropolitan Police have been notified of your claim, and provided with contact details, as even if not complicit himself, he seems to have potentially important light to shed on BBC culture of the time. Well done.

Isn't there a fine for wasting police time without something more reliable than "someone on a message board says..."?

Are you implying that Suzy's name-droppings are just the whims of 'someone on a message board' who's merely pretended for the past decade to be at the centre of the pop world, but who in fact has never come into contact with key players in the industry and therefore all her pronouncements should be taken with a huge pinch of salt?
― Campari G&T, Sunday, 28 October 2012 23:51 (eleven years ago) link
I don't exactly keep tabs on the guy but I was pretty surprised that Gary Glitter wasn't still in jail.
― JoeStork, Monday, 29 October 2012 00:05 (eleven years ago) link
I am pretty sure what I heard about impending arrest 24 hours before it happened was as a result of the individual already making a contribution of information - otherwise why say anything to a mere acquaintance? - so the persistence of personal attacks on me by this suddenly interested poster for saying so is just a tad crepey. CG&T, your insults are unacceptable and I've already objected to the way you're tailgating me on this thread, so take this opportunity to pick on someone your own size.

It feels like someone is about to suggest that Saville was operating within hospitals and so they should finish off the NHS.
― djh, Wednesday, 31 October 2012 22:16 (eleven years ago) link
Well, apparently it was Edwina Currie who gave him the keys to that particular kingdom. In a statement she insinuated that people connected with the hospital who objected to Savile's actions had to deal with him blackmailing them with *their* dirty laundry.
...what, like having an affair with John Major?
