I'm distinctly unpleasant at work and/or when annoyed or impatient, but I do get things done. My marketable skills all involve manufacturing & production and asking vendors whether their pressmen were fucking sleeping when they printed my books, though.

honestly, this whole "med school" business aside, the one thing i've really wanted to do was open up a bar/hostel/whatever in silverton, colorado.

the reason i basically hate my regular working life is that i'm being expected to do a tremendous amount of work with very little recognition or reward, just patronizing pats on the head and increased expectations. also i hate my work clothing, and waking up before 9am. i imagine working in a bar would alleviate many of these issues. but i could be living in a dream world as well.

bear trap to laurel; speaking of rare records, did i tell you crazypants lost the go! record that i got bought? she took them from me in the bar then wouldn't give them back, then i got thrown out, then she got engaged (although that probably happened before i got thrown out) then i pulled a five-star nutty and she thinks she may have left them in justin's van but we'll find out in 10 days/two weeks when he comes rolling through chicago. $40 worth of records disappeared!

Working in a bar seems like it's doomed to be disappointing because nothing could be as awesome as the romantic idealization.

The big problem I have with hating my job is that it's now given me enough $$$$ that chucking it to become a bartender would be incredibly stupid, especially given that I have to support a professional singer.

Also: today I brought in the only picture I really have of mw and me, it is from maybe three or four years ago? Anyhow, all of my coworkers keep remarking that I looked "really really different" now, by which I am 100% sure they mean 1) younger and 2) prettier :(
