Dr Candle's newborn implies that at some point babies COULD be born on the island.

For a second I thought they were really going to cut off Juliet's hand!

Yeah, I think this is what we're meant to take away -- I don't think the kid has to grow up to be anyone we know.

They obviously blasted the 'wheel room' at some point, probably all the baby problems start then.

didn't somebody theorize that dr. candle was miles' father at some point last season? because that was in my head so when i saw him + baby i was like 'oooh' and maybe that is why miles has special powers - because he was born/lived on the island.

seems like some sort of foucault's pendulum which is letting them know where/when an "event window" will open so they can re-enter the island.

i assume the entire season will consist of trying to convince hurley, sun, and kate to go back to the island.

why would sayid say never trust ben, if it seems he is still working for him?

i never got the impression he was working for him because he LIKED him, just because he had something on him.

i assumed it was cause ben had him convinced he was doing the right thing ie protecting his friends getting revenge on baddies etc

Alan Dale can do an American accent pretty well, but Widmore last night kept slipping into Dale's native Australian.

Mixed feelings about this, but I remember feeling the same way after the openers in other seasons too.

It was great in parts but can't help they're digging a big hole of boring non island stuff to fill half the series, eg the effort to get Kate/Hurley/Sun to agree to go back. I found myself waiting for the parts back on the island mostly as the other bits are a bit too real world.

Also I have to say Sun's "I want revenge" thing and Sun in general now seems utterly boring. Kill her off asap. I don't want to watch high powered meetings between her and Widmore.

I mean did anyone else just groan when Hurley ran to the police as it's hard to imagine the storyline of him inevitably being broken out of jail/wherever being in any way interesting? Surely it's clear as day they're all going to go back one way or another.

I assume Sawyer/Juliette love interest is on the cards v soon.

also Ana Lucia appearing was so fucking obvious and then "libby says hi" made me cringe!

but yeah I'm not utterly hating, I have faith, the openers are never as big as the finales I guess, takes a while to reset the scene and get the plots developing and intertwining again.

• if when they move thru time they cant get to their camp anymore, why do their clothes come with them. also why does the zodiac. and the bullet in lockes thigh.

• when faraday talks to desmond why does desmond not remember until 3 years later. it would make more sense if he remembered on pennys boat.

• when desmond sees faraday why doesnt he remember him. from the army or whatever. and then remember him later.

this is the most important point I think. he had really met Daniel (at a REALLY IMPORTANT time in his life in the past) but they treated it like he was meeting him for the first time.

maybe that was desmond traveling back in time

i think thats all going to be waved away with some kind of "desmond is weird" which is fine by me i guess

some thoughts:
1. time church lady = Faraday's mom, right?
2. I was LOL frogurt's wearing a red shirt then BAM fireball to the chest.
3. Ana Lucia was awesome, c'mon.
4. Desmond being special/different sort of explains a bit about "The Constant". Remember when we couldn't figure out whether or not that message "Desmond Hume will be your constant" had always been there or whether it had just appeared in 2004 and why neither Faraday/Desmond remembered each other? i think we know now - Faraday realized he had a new memory when he saw that message, which is how he knew Desmond was special. Des successfully changed the past.
5. Richard Alpert giving Locke the compass - "what item already belongs to you??" - from the dalai lama initiation episode?
6. Kate and Aaron scenes are truly annoying.
7. Miles totally talked to dead boar's ghost.
8. ugh at blatant setting up of Juliet/Sawyer shipping. Jawyer?
9. Time-jumps + ben saying they can never leave once they go back = adam and eve are so jack and kate.

the important thing on a narrative/character level is that sun *thinks* that jin is dead - it's the thing that drives her to go up against widmore and orchestrate a takeover of her dad's company.

they speculated that the stuff they had with them when the original flash happened follows them wherever they go through time - so i guess things theyre touching hop through time too? lockes bullet would imply that they can continue to gather things

ya didn't daniel say they had to go somewhere man-made? so if they entered a hatch would the hatch come with them the next time it flashed?

Technically, isn't the camp man-made?

So what's the deal with Alpert then? He isn't affected by the island moving?
