How does moving through time also move them through physical space?

Neil Frogurt was played by the guy from the Aaron Burr "Got Milk?" ad.
― Bianca Jagger (jaymc), Thursday, 22 January 2009 04:49 (fifteen years ago) link
I know I'm in the minority but I really missed Ana Lucia! And I love how they brought back Frogurt as such an asshole you knew he was going to be brutally killed sometime - and that did not disappoint. Sayid ass-kicking was fabulous as usual. Really entertaining eps tonight!
― Nhex, Thursday, 22 January 2009 05:29 (fifteen years ago) link
frogurt is also the free dude in "people under the stairs". newt?

I downloaded and watched 30 minutes of this before I realized I only had the second half! Fuck! I was like "Man, this is hard to follow, even for lost" And the first half is still nowhere to be found.
― Dan I., Thursday, 22 January 2009 07:31 (fifteen years ago) link
The moment Frogurt spoke I said to my roommate "this guy is going to die horribly" haha.
At least 2 people in the room simultaneously "WHAT the FUUUUUCK!??!"ed at TimeCop lady (Fionnula Flannegan)'s island marker pendulum lair or whatever it was.

Daniel Dae Kim still mysteriously in cast list!
Maybe his corpse landed within the radius.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Thursday, 22 January 2009 07:41 (fifteen years ago) link
That was a very strange and satisfying episode.
God I wish they could ditch the one character flashback/foreward format and do every episode in his awesome bonkers jump to everyone all episode long format all season.

this was great as a "oh yeah, we're not fucking around" opener.
am i imagining things or was he literally wearing a red shirt when he first appeared this ep?

Dr. Candle's baby (obviously Miles, amirite?) made the Prince/Aaliyah baby sound! It's like the Wilhelm scream of baby sfx I guess.
― Dan I., Thursday, 22 January 2009 10:05 (fifteen years ago) link
why obvs miles? just because he is ASIAN?
― cutty, Thursday, 22 January 2009 12:27 (fifteen years ago) link
I didn't think it was Miles, but just thought, "oh, they have a newborn" (ie. either they brought the kid from off island, or the infertility thing hasn't started yet at that point)
I wonder who will turn out to be Charlotte's constant (Ben?)
the whole bit about Desmond being uniquely special / you can break the rules of time / Daniel appears in his dream was fuckin great
― dmr, Thursday, 22 January 2009 13:58 (fifteen years ago) link
But it wasn't a dream it was a MEMORY!
― POLAR BAER PYJAMAS (nickalicious), Thursday, 22 January 2009 14:02 (fifteen years ago) link
Dr Candle's newborn implies that at some point babies COULD be born on the island.
― POLAR BAER PYJAMAS (nickalicious), Thursday, 22 January 2009 14:03 (fifteen years ago) link
For a second I thought they were really going to cut off Juliet's hand!
― POLAR BAER PYJAMAS (nickalicious), Thursday, 22 January 2009 14:05 (fifteen years ago) link
(ie. either they brought the kid from off island, or the infertility thing hasn't started yet at that point)
Yeah, I think this is what we're meant to take away -- I don't think the kid has to grow up to be anyone we know.
― Bianca Jagger (jaymc), Thursday, 22 January 2009 14:07 (fifteen years ago) link
They obviously blasted the 'wheel room' at some point, probably all the baby problems start then.
― redmond, Thursday, 22 January 2009 14:08 (fifteen years ago) link
i'm kinda thinking she doesn't have one.
― HELPING CHILDREN THROUGH RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Thursday, 22 January 2009 14:15 (fifteen years ago) link
when frogurt died i said to my roommate, 'eh, he was annoying anyway.'
didn't somebody theorize that dr. candle was miles' father at some point last season? because that was in my head so when i saw him + baby i was like 'oooh' and maybe that is why miles has special powers - because he was born/lived on the island.
― tehresa, Thursday, 22 January 2009 14:44 (fifteen years ago) link
"God I wish they could ditch the one character flashback/foreward format and do every episode in his awesome bonkers jump to everyone all episode long format all season."
I read that this is how it is going to be for the rest of the show.
also, wtf at crazy church chalk pendulum
― Gukbe, Thursday, 22 January 2009 14:46 (fifteen years ago) link
seems like some sort of foucault's pendulum which is letting them know where/when an "event window" will open so they can re-enter the island.
i assume the entire season will consist of trying to convince hurley, sun, and kate to go back to the island.
why would sayid say never trust ben, if it seems he is still working for him?
― cutty, Thursday, 22 January 2009 15:13 (fifteen years ago) link
i never got the impression he was working for him because he LIKED him, just because he had something on him.
― tehresa, Thursday, 22 January 2009 15:27 (fifteen years ago) link
i assumed it was cause ben had him convinced he was doing the right thing ie protecting his friends getting revenge on baddies etc
― ice cr?m, Thursday, 22 January 2009 15:29 (fifteen years ago) link
yes but he's not following his credo to hurley of "whatever benjamin linus says, do the opposite"
― cutty, Thursday, 22 January 2009 15:32 (fifteen years ago) link
ha yah he went back on that pretty fast
